Optifast

  • Is anyone on or has anyone tried optifast?
  • I was on Optifast for about 6 months to prepare for weight loss surgery. I am thankful to God for it because it helped me break a relationship with food that was killing me.

Good luck if you decide to do this.

    Blessings,
    Annie
  • I am seriously considering it...I went to a meeting at a medical center the other day.....not to sound stupid....but were you hungry?
  • The first week was awful honestly. I don't know if I was hungry or just fighting emotions that I couldn't eat. After that I was fine and never really hungry at all. The shakes and soup were enough to curb my appetite.

    blessings,
    Annie
  • My two cents...I didn't do Optifast, but I started my journey with a Juice Feast that I did myself, not under supervision. That first week was **** and probably very much like Anne's experience. I sort of think of it as my body having a "WTF tantrum!" lol

Expect cravings to be extreme when you first start and expect the hunger to be a bit rowdy at times. I mean I was craving things I hadn't eaten in years! However, it does get better and if you feel it isn't, then you are able to consult with your doctor so that is awesome.
  • I was considering Optifast too. But I read that it tastes horrid... like, supernaturally horrid.

So I'm doing slim-fast. I'm talking to my doctor in a couple of weeks, though, and I open to doing optifast if it a better solution.
  • If you are interested in Optifast. There a some great videos blogs on Youtube.
  • I did optifast a long time ago, I didn't do well. But, maybe I just wasn't ready to make that kind of committment. But,no food at all wasn't good for me.I would always crave things. I wasn'thungry w/the drinks& all the water I drank.Maybe the program has changed some, since then.
