Hey All!

  • Hey from another newb.

Well, let's see. About me. You know that whole freshman 15 thing they say about college? What they don't say is if you're not careful, it's way more than 15...and it doesn't stop after freshman year. When I went to college I was a size 12. It's my the summer before my senior year and I'm not sitting at an 18/20. I've put on about 60 pounds and I'm trying to shed as much of that as possible before it gets worse.

I lost two pant sizes in a summer when I was in high school, so I'm hoping that sort of thing happens again this summer. I'm on a similar plan of eating better and walking (power walking right now) which will hopefully move up to jogging once I'm in a bit better shape. I've lost about five pounds so far, so wish me luck for the rest!

    Nice to meet you all!
  • Hi There and

Glad to meet you. You have what it takes to turn this around and it sounds like you are off to a great start!

I lost most of my weight on my own over 4 years, and after regaining 20 pounds this winter, I recognized the need for a support group.

There is lots of information here and a great group of supportive folks. I am following South Beach and I check in regularly. I have lost 11 pounds this month. When I feel like eating stuff that derail my plan, I check in and correspond with others. I find the feeling passes and I don't have to succomb to the cravings.

Best wishes and I hope to see you around.

  • Welcome! I started at 180, gained the freshman 10, the sophomore 10, and the pregnancy 85. Yikes! Good luck, girl!
