A Delusional Scale?

  • Greetings all,

I had a moment today that half made me smile, and half cringe.

Okay, so I've been periodically complaining that my analog scale gives inaccurate measurements and that I needed to buy a digital one. So, I went to Target to buy some litter for the kitty and some stuff to make lunch with and I thought, whatever, I'll buy one while I'm here.

So I get the thing home, I set it up in it's usual place, disrobe and wait for a weight. (hehe)

I know for a fact that I am around 227 lbs at the moment, cause I've been using my mom's scale as a frame of reference. This lovely contraption weighs me as 107.2 lbs and refused to go any higher.

I believe this is the highest compliment I've ever gotten from a scale. Though I wonder if I'll weigh -5 lbs when I reach goal weight. *rolls eyes*

Well, this kinda made me smile. But what will make me smile even further is to take this thing back to Target, get my $18 back, and buy something else. I'm sick and tired of scales.

  • Could you have it set on kilograms by mistake? I weigh 246. When I weighed myself with my scale set to kilograms it said I weight 117.

  • Hmm... that might have something to do with it, actually... I will have to see if it can be set on anything else. But thanks for the heads-up, I will give it a try.

  • Yes, your weight is about 103kg, so that must be it.
  • Yeah, it has to be set on kg. There's probably a setting on the bottom of the scale for that.
