I noticed another short thread on here regarding just recently getting the Tribal Fusion popup that for me invariably means my computer will lock up. I had also posted on here a week or so ago that I love this forum, had been a subscriber for years until the subscriptions went away so this isn't meant to be critical.

I had a lot of trouble with my antedeluvian computer locking up on 3FC before I got a no ad subscription and eventually that got better with the subscription. Almost all the problems I've ever have here, in my mind, are related to popups from Tribal Fusion. This is the only site I visit where I have popups. When I asked about the subscription awhile back I was told 3FC doesn't have popup ads and that seemed to be true.

A few weeks ago the Tribal Fusion popup started to appear here (again ONLY on this site, which I as stated love and can't stay away from) and as stated, it kept shutting down my computer whenever it appeared.

Whenever anyone posts about this problem, and I say this respectfully and hope it offends no one, truly and I really mean it I will stay away but this morning for some reason the site is doing fine with me and the only ad I am seeing is nice quiet banner about Netflix and sometimes it shows me a picture of a person with a large stomach but that's ok, but I digress ... WHENEVER I read a thread on here that says someone had a problem with popups or Tribal Fusion, they are discounted, as if somehow what they are trying to report as a problem is not important or not true, at least it seems that way to me. I just saw a thread closed after a short post by one poster and a mod that curtly said something like just get Foxfire.

Not everyone is unhappy with their current browser and not everyone wants to use Foxfire. I know I don't. I don't use IE but I don't want Foxfire and I don't want to change and I do want to come and use 3FC as I've done off and on for years under more than one user name as I've always been open about.

Anyhow, today is a non Tribal Fusion day.

Just wanted to point out that the Tribal Fusion Popup is not a figment of the imagination of those who have reported it causes problems and it does come from here.

I'm sorry this is happening to you This is the first time I've heard of Tribal Fusion ads causing any problems. The other thread about problems with the forum locking up was tracked down by technicians to Google ads.

There was a thread regarding a pop ad but I don't think it was a technical complaint. We had pops disabled for a long time, but they were turned back on, which I guess surprised someone that didn't expect them. I can't find any threads mentioning Tribal Fusion and any problems.

Do you have any browser 'helpers' installed? Sometimes they cause more problems than they prevent. That's the only thing I can think of that might be causing this.

I'm now getting a Zwinky pop-up occassionally. And I know when it is "processing" because my computer will lock up. I just press "refresh" and it seems to work. I then have to close the Zwinky window, and things are fine...

Just thought I would add my two cents about pop up's. I run firefox and it is quite good at denying pop up's but when I go to my profile, I always get some kind of find your classmates pop up. It's funny, I never get them anywhere else on the site and it doesn't lock my computer up, but it's just weird it only happens on occasion and ONLY on my profile page. Go figure! At any rate, love the site!
