Stretch marks not from weight loss/pregnancy

  • The fun side of things is I put off 20 pounds without getting a single stretch mark, and I believe I'll put off the remaining 36 as well without putting on any. But last year that @#§$%& of my doctor gave me the wrong cure for something, that was steroids, that made me increase of 2 sizes in 1 week!!
Yes, HE did the mess and I had to put it down, but in that week he also caused me stretch marks. 6 huge vertical marks on my belly, they look like I had a fight with a tiger.
Would love to thank him for his present, stupid man but guess I'm just going to keep my stretch marks. Just it's not right. I've tried almost all the creams on the market, no effect and now I'm looking at estetic treatments but laser costs, more then 200€ per session and at least 4 are needed. I cannot afford it, but he could afford to give me stretch marks uh? I hate these so badly, I wish there was something I can do, but wherever I go it sais there's 'no remedy' for stretch marks.
  • Stretch marks do fade with time and if you tan that helps make them less noticeable as well. I'd continue to at least lotion up though- it can't hurt to keep the skin hydrated.
  • I used to have bright red, drawn-with-lipstick stripes on my belly. Now, they're so white you can only see them when the light hits them the right way.

As was recommended to me by my birth mother who got a gastric bypass, I used Vitamin E oil on them. It's icky sticky, but supposedly it decreases the coloring pretty fast.
  • I got stretch marks from puberty, on my thighs and boobs (It felt like I acquired C's overnight ). I never used anything special on them and they're practically by invisible now. That was about 5 years ago.
All I do now is use a body brush, Palmers Cocoa butter, and I think running has helped to generally make my legs look better, and taken my focus off the sm's.
A lot of people like Bio-Oil, but even that isn't going to totally make them go away.
Just do your best to take care of your skin for prevention, and the others will fade in time.
  • I've been using a product from Avon for cellulite and stretch marks, and while I'm not 100% faithful about applying it daily it has made a difference.

In particular, I had a single stretch mark on my lower abdomen. I couldn't see it except in certain light, but I could clearly feel it. It felt like a huge ravine running down my lower stomach. After about 3 months of unregular use, I can no longer feel it and now I need very stong light shining in a certain direction to even see it. I'm thrilled with it. I think I'll keep using it on other locations that I've notice some stretchmarks developing and see what kind of results I get with regular use.

I can't recall what the product is called, but it's in a purple tube, from Avon.
  • Sister, if all you have to worry about in life is stretch marks, consider yourself blessed.
