AP for Spinning?

  • So I take a spin class a few times a week - its 55 minutes long, with a warm up and cool down period at the end.

If I plug it into eTools for activity (I generally put in 50 minutes for high intensity, because I am sweating/out of breath after 5 minutes) and I got 8 AP When I talked to my leader, she said that was waaaay too much and I should only count it for 4.

Does anyone else take a spin class, or something similar, and how do you count the points?
  • I start tomorrow night. I read on the club's website that 40 minutes of spinning could burn 500 points.

I think that WW really only gives you 4 points a day, no matter what you actually do.
  • Yeah, our instructor says its between 500 and 800 calories in an hour, but okay, I guess that's why I'm only getting 4. Bummer. Thanks though - our WW leader left out a few crucial details about a lot of stuff, and she's currently being replaced.

Good luck on your first class! Drink LOTS and LOTS of water during and after. I was told once that you should drink an oz of water for every minute of the class. That's the rule I follow, although sometimes I need a little bit more.
