New, feeling listless

  • Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum but have lurked a few days. I think it's a wonderful place here! I'm on day six of MRC and frankly, I feel really tired and little energy. Granted, I was a 3-4 diet coke/day, and 2 cups of coffee/day type of girl. Now I'm down to one cup of half caff in the morning. Could this be why? Or am I in sugar/carb withdrawal still? ....or am I not consuming enough calories on the green menu? I've added in the maximum of 5 HNS and I take the phentratrim tablets, a multivitamin, and flax. I'm really looking forward to losing this weight, but I can barely get through the work day and then work out for lack of energy! Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

The first couple of days or weeks can be difficult because your body is expelling a lot of toxins which can make you feel really bad. There is also withdrawal symptoms to deal with. Are you getting enough sleep? That may help getting a little more. It will get better and you will end up having more energy than you did before because you're giving your body everything it needs to run properly. Just stick with it and bring it up at your next WI or go by your center and ask if you can talk to someone.
  • I too was a heavy caffeine drinker...the first week was difficult with the headaches and fatigue. Now after 2 months on the program I feel WONDERFUL, I do not need the caffeine or miss it...My energy is stable and after work in the evenings I don't collapse on the sofa or down caffeine...I feel so much better I really did not understand how my diet was truly affecting my health, until I decided to eat better and wow what a difference...you will see in a week or so you will just have energy and feel great...
  • Thank you fireice, I'm sticking with it for sure. I'm feeling pretty good today, but I had mentioned in a different thread that I made a huge mistake. I just bought some multivitamins from Target and failed to fully read the ingredients. They were labeled "daily energy support" and after I had one today I read it is loaded with caffeine. OY! So, I have to go get some new ones. I sure hope no headache tomorrow!

GWE, thanks for the encouragement. It's good to know that these feelings are somewhat normal for the circumstances. I went out and biked for half an hour today and felt pretty good (but I did take that loaded vitamin so go figure!). Looking back, I really polluted my body with so many things bad. I'm learning new healthy habits that I'm applying to my family meals as well. I want my husband and kids to be healthy too.
  • Pondhopper, I started on January 2 and for the first 2 weeks I didn't feel very good either. Once I got about 10 pounds off and got my body lined out I feel fantastic now. I actually look forward to getting out and about and getting so much done. Just hang in there and I am sure you will get lined out soon! I love MRC and everything that comes with it! Huggers!
