oh. i remember this.

  • i just spent 2 hours planning out four days worth of meals.

    it's too much. i know that once i get into a groove and have a familiar number of dishes/foods and once i get to know the point values and once - in three months or so - when it all comes a little easier it won't take this long.

    but right now i feel deflated, 7 hours into day 1. i know that this is about change, and that changing how we eat is going to take time and practice but i am now whining like a little girl.

    whaa hwaa aaahw.

    crappity.

    onwards. i have to go back to the car to get my gym card.

    betcha i feel better after a good swim.

  • It does get easier. Just give it a little time and it will fill like "normal" rather than extra work.
  • Oh it gets lots easier. Lots. Eventually it will become second nature to you and it will be just "what you do". And believe me, it won't take anywhere near 3 months time.

    But just think - how much time have you spent wishing and hoping and longing to be fit and trim? How much time have you spent wanting to lose the weight? How much time have you spent not being all that you can be?

    Time spent on improving your life - time VERY, VERY well spent. It's productive and useful and will accomplish something - a healthier and happier you.

    Hang tight. It's so worth it.
  • It will get easier, just keep plugging away.

    I know it can seem overwhelming because it's so much in one day, but that step has to happen before things can get better.

    I just spent about a half an hour learning different free weight moves. When I'm learning I always feel less productive because I'm not pushing myself as hard as I could be if I knew what I was doing.

    But next time will be better and we can't get there if we don't learn.

    But Robin is right, it won't take that long for you to get into a groove.

    I have found that planning also saves me time -- I don't have to sit around and figure out what's for dinner. I already know. Plus, it cuts down arguments with the Cute Boyfriend on what we're having for dinner because he knows what's planned.

    The hard part for me is the packing it the evening before the next day so I can take it to work/school/gym. Ugh. Does that get any easier?
  • It is overwhelming at first but it gets so much easier so quickly. I plan my next days food the night before right after dinner. It takes me about 5 minutes at this point to write it all down and then input it into fitday. 5 minutes! That's it! And I'm calorie counting so theoretically it should take longer

  • It does time a bit of time at first but it does get better Once you are used to the points value to your regular stuff it'll be a breeze!
  • Just remember.....this is so, so, very worth it. One of the most important things I've learned since being on this journey is that pre-planning makes so much difference. Pre-planning helps me to stay on-plan and helps me to know that I am truly on-plan and weight loss will follow. No guesswork and less opportunity to eat off-plan.
