  • Tammy's post on the "Some days..." thread inspired me to count up my days OP. Today will be my 242nd day on-plan. No hershey's miniatures. No birthday cake. No Thanksgiving sweet potato pie. No Christmas cookies. No Reese's chocolate bunnies. This has NEVER happened before. I almost can't believe I've done it.

Also I just realized, today's my eight-month anniversary of this lifestyle change, yay me.

But the best news is, I *think* my scale is moving again. As I've moaned about repeatedly, I got down to 262, 98# lost, on Valentine's Day, then stalled out. I tried several things like an eggs-and-meat fast, upping my vegetables, lowering them, on and on, nada. Joined a gym and lost 1 1/2 sizes in 6 weeks, but no loss in weight. Bought a new scale, my weight jumped UP 19 lbs. Oy vey!! I refused to move my ticker up though, since I hadn't really gained any weight ~ it was just weighing me differently.

So I quit weighing myself at all, for a long time. But today I decided to jump on, and I am back down to my lowest previous, Valentine's Day weight! On the crappy scale that's 262. On the nice new scale that's 271.4.

Holding my breath - if (when) I get to 259 on the crappy scale, I'm going to toss it and go by the new scale only.

Opinions needed: new scale weighs approximately 9 1/2 lbs higher than the old scale. Should I go back and increase my starting weight by 9 1/2 lbs? Or just go by the new scale and pretend those 9 1/2 lbs don't exist?

Y'all have no idea of the HAPPY CARROT DANCES that await once I FINALLY hit the 100# lost mark!!!! I am going out of town this weekend and I skipped the gym last night so I could go to the store and stock up on all the food I need to precook and take with me to stay on-plan. Wouldn't it be a nice reward if I came home and weighed in at 259/268.5????? WISH ME LUCK!!!!!

(And, shhhh, nobody tell my scales. I don't want them to overhear me planning to thwart them behind their backs!!!)
  • You should go cover the scales so that they remain unaware!! ha!

I think you should increase your starting weight by the 9 1/2 pounds. You still lost that weight and you should get credit for it!!

    Congratulations! You've done so well!
  • Amazing job! Keep it up; you're doing awesome.
  • Wow! Congrats to you for staying on plan. 98 pounds in 8 months is fantastic!

And in my opinion, I would just add the 9.5 lbs to your starting weight
  • Congrat's on the amazing weight loss! You are doing great! I would increase the starting weight too. I had the same thing happen. My old scales weighed me 5 pounds lighter than the new digital one. It bummed me out at first, but I made the adjustment and I figure maybe I won't be so shocked by what the Doctors scales will say. I have to admit I jump on the old scales every once in a while just to get that thrill of seeing a lower number. Dumb, I know, but it makes me happy
  • Girl, you are doing super de duper fabulous! I cant wait till I can say Ive been doing my "lifestyle change" for 8 months. Congratulations!!!!! Not sure what to say about the scale issue, I have scale issues myself and they are not fun.
  • Dude you LOST that weight! Go and add 9.5 lbs to your starting weight RIGHT NOW! That would put you at EXACTLY 98 lbs lost wouldn't it?

Only 2 more pounds. 2 MEASLY POUNDS!!! I've got 1.4 lbs to go too! Lets do this together

PS. I'm going to round up my 376.6 to 377. That's better
  • Oo, I can throw out the crappy scale now...heck YEAH we are going to PAWTAY like, um, basset hounds.
