Non Scale Goals

  • Almost a year ago, I posted on the Nat Body Challenge forum about all the mini goals I could brainstorm. I just wanted to share, and wondered what other mini goals you all have. I'm always looking for things to add to my list.

    Old goals:
    * Weigh 190 lbs - DONE
    * Weigh 180 lbs - DONE
    * Weigh 170 lbs
    * Touch my toes without feeling like my legs are ripping in half.
    * Wear my "skinny" jeans (which used to be my "fat" jeans in college) - DONE
    * Wear my "skinny" jeans from college
    * Feel good in a bathing suit
    * Catch someone staring at me in a good way
    * Run/jog 5 minutes without stopping - DONE
    * Run a 12 minute mile - DONE
    * Be able to do 10 unmodified push-ups
    * Buy clothes in a store that doesn't carry women's sizes
    * Be able to fit into a Victoria's Secret bra
    * Be able to do all the routines correctly in a step class at the gym
    * Consistently wear a size 16 - DONE
    * Size 14
    * Size 12
    * Be able to button my winter coat even with a sweater on
    * Actually like my picture with my arms up on a roller coaster
    * Try a new fruit
    * Try a new vegetable
    * Try a new recipe from a healthy cooking magazine or cookbook
    * Lower my cholesterol without medication
    * Or, if I'm put on medication, work with my doctor so that I don't have to be on it long - In process. 100% normal w/ meds

    So I was wondering, what can I add to my list?
    Run a
    • 5k
    • Run a 10k
    • Swim 4 laps freestyle w/o stopping
    • Climb a rock wall
  • I like this list!! I'll have to think of a few other things to add to it...
  • My goals aren't anything super spectacular at the moment. We're sorta trying to get pregnant so I'm not setting long term goals. I also have some health issues that are giving me fits. I'm not complaining about them...I just need to be careful not to over do it (like I did today).

    Goals by July

    - run two miles
    - deadlift 100lbs
    - and i wanted to be able to do a pull up on my own but my chiropractor doesn't want me doing them, even assisted. i um...cheat a little on that one.
  • I just bought a pair of size 16 jeans (not womens- regular) from a table at Costco. I've NEVER been able to do that before.

  • I have a few of these. I find it very discouraging to put all my energy into focusing on that "magic number" on the scale, so instead I try to think about what that number will actually mean to me, and what being in shape will allow me to do. So far, my goals are...

    1. Backpack a 15 mile day.
    2. Run a 5k (...in less than 40 mins, less than 30 mins, etc.)
    3. Run a 10k (...same as the 5k).
    4. Wear a bikini in public without shame! lol
    5. Look good in the dressing room mirror
    6. Have visable abs!
    7. Run in public on the trail w/ the puppers.
    8. Have toned arms that don't jiggle!

    I'm sure I have more lol, that's about all I can think of at the moment
