List of foods for phase two.

  • I need a list of foods that I can add on phase two of FS which starts Saturday to me.

Can we have salt in phase 2? What about veggie broth? and most importantly tabasco sauce, can we have that?

    Help is much appreciated =]
  • Hi Sanity - I thought we could have veggie broth and tabasco in Phase 1? I used veggie broth to make my brown rice - was that a no-no??
  • Broth is fine in phase 1 (I love beef broth with brown rice), as is all herbs and spices. Salt is allowed, but overall try to keep sodium low.

When I started Phase 2, the most excited thing I ate was a bowl of Life cereal.
  • Lovin' the broth idea and going to try it this weekend. Another easy twist to brown rice is a little low-fat cheddar/mozzerella/mexican for a cheese bake. I mix up the veggies I use (red onions, mushrooms and tomatoes are usually my go-to but experimenting is key -- fyi those fresh mushroom medleys from the market are the cat's pajamas). Drop in some fresh minced garlic and a little hot sauce. I use only a couple tb's of cheese -the flavor and consistency makes it a completely different meal.

That sounds awesome! I want to go home right now and make some!
  • Oh yeah....my favorite thing from this diet is grilled pineapple chunks. 5 minutes in a frying pan (on the grill now that it's getting warmer ) until brown on each side is amazing. I'll sometimes throw a little cinnamon on them. "Is nice-high 5..." - Borat
  • I bet with the beef broth it'll be even better! For P3 I just realized with whole wheat wraps there's everything needed for fajitas. Grilled onions and peppers with a little chicken....and I just want to go home.

MaryEllen, isn't that hilarious! I had strawberry Special K that morning and it was like heaven - LOL
  • Sanity, and anyone else, PM me if you want a nice list of ok foods to put on the fridge. My sister sent them to me and they've helped a lot - better than going all over in the book looking for which snacks are ok.

I invented and found so many new recipes... especially stir-frys that don't depend so much on the meat. (I use some canned tomato for the juice instead of butter-garlic sauce lol). We've really been eating so much healthier even though we're almost done.

Eric still has a food diary on Excel- I gave that up a while ago, just eating something every couple hours. Geez we look fat in that picture. I gotta change that soon.
  • Ginaneric, I am unable to PM yet, I am new to this forum, is there anyway you can send me the list of ok food? Thanks!

ok, here they are, but I see that it's warning me that "links may be removed" so I don't know how long they will stay! I had these on the fridge

... ok, I need 2 more posts before I can post links so here's one.

These lists are not all-inclusive, but the snacks and such are pulled out of the back of the book and put with the rest of the stuff. I think she did a pretty good job.
