1st year law student looking to lose it! Los Angeles

  • Hello ladies!

For years now I haven't had much success (or motivation) to be serious about my health. It's not about being "skinny" now--I'm 26 (almost 27) and I'm very worried about what I've done to my body.

It's only gotten bad during the past 5 years when life got too complicated (broke up with first boyfriend, credit card debt, school, etc.). Life is wonderful now, but I'm still eating like I'm living in chaos. Now that I'm in school 5 days a week, I don't walk and I am in the worst shape of my life.

I'm hoping to find some inspirational young women--especially if you're also in law school or in the Los Angeles area. It's always great to find people specifically like you!!

Well, I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week so far. It's great to see so many women helping each other on this website!

P.S.--I found someone I wanted to send a message to, but I cannot since I'm a new user. If someone could pass on my message, I would really appreciate it! (I'm "encoding" my email, hopefully you get it) My email is with gmail and it's 2 words put together "blonde" and "ambassador"--no spaces, no periods, just smash them together with @gmail.com!! Thank you so much!!
  • also...I really like these count down bars at the bottom of people's posts. Could someone post a link with instructions?
  • Hey Elle -

Tickers are part of user signatures, which are enabled after 20 days as a member and 20 posts. Stick around and you'll be there in no time!

We have lots of places you might want to investigate...the 20-somethings, for those in that age range, the 100 lb club, for those working toward or who have lost 100 lbs or more. We also have forums by eating plan and a whole lot of miscellaneous clubs and groups to join, so jump on in.

Can't wait to get to know you better!
  • Amanda--

Thank you for taking a minute to welcome me. What a great system you guys have set up here!

I enjoyed reading your story and applaud you on your goal and maintenance! I wasn't able to see the photo collage though. Your wedding pic is definitely cute (and you look so fit!), but it makes me sad because it reminds me about prop 8 and all the insanity around it. My boyfriend and I went to a protest in downtown LA and it was definitely one of the greatest experiences of last year. It drew such an amazing, diverse, compassionate group of people and made me really hopeful about the future.

Anyways, nice to meet you and thank you again!
