Low Carb Snacks & Meals on the Run !

  • We have so many newbies and it would be a great refresher for us olbies that I thought I would start a new thread. (couldn't find the old one!)

So, starting us up and looking forward to some great suggestions!

    Me first, me first....

These are a few of my favorites as I NEVER know how my day will go but they're always hectic.

    I always keep the basics.

Quick on the go meals or snacks

Prepackaged & sliced pepperoni and canadian bacon

turkey ham (for roll ups - add cheese or cream cheese)

premade & frozen meatballs - I buy them premade & seasoned-you can bake or microwave them

Sizzle steaks - I wrap them around swiss cheese and nuke -sometimes I add a few sliced mushrooms

frozen chicken wings - if I know I'm going to be really busy I'll prebake some-freeze and pull them out-by the time they're thawed-a quick nuke job and some ranch dressing-yummy

tacos - wrapped in large lettuce leafs

hardboiled eggs and I are good friends

precubed cheese or some prefer string cheese

premade guacamole - great with pork rinds or veggies

    premade salad mix

    celery / cukes / zucchini / cauliflower

I also like to make a few extra portions of chicken/pork chops or burger patties for next day leftovers.

How about hot dogs with saurkraut & melted cheese? yummy! You could throw it all in a bowl and just micro it at work!

Can you tell I'm the nuking queen for my daytime meals?

  • I'm a dip woman myself--sour cream dip that its. I make up a tub and leave itin the fridge with some precut veggies for dippping. Lacking protein? Get some canned flakes of ham/chicken/tuna and throw it in the sour cream mix--very yummy.
  • Snacks! How could I forget snacks???
Those little munchie moments! Or when dh/ds are having sandwiches and chips! uggh!

Pork Rinds! Love them with hot sauce/salsa or guacamole
Also use them in meatloafs or to make a breading for fish,

I also snack on the pepperoni and canadian bacon slices with some cheese. And beef jerky is good.

Pooky, me too. Love the ranch dips and use that on alot of things, veggies, chicken cut into dip size pieces and of course wings.

  • Mmmm, me too pork rind lover here, especially when I got the snackies!
  • When I'm trying to low-carb . . . .

    Cheddar Cheese (cut into cubes)

Lean Ham & Turkey (rolled with cheese or flavored cream cheese)

Iceburg Lettuce (very low-carb -- make big salad if really hungry)

Marie's Bleu Cheese Dressing (no carbs -- very rich flavor)

Turkey Bacon (cook whole pound & add to rolled meats, salads, & omelets)

Carb Solution Chocolate Fudge Protein Shake (for breakfast on the run)

WATER -- Some chilling in the fridge & some 1/2 full frozen in the freezer (just fill completely & stick in bag -- will keep cold for hours)

    Hard Boiled Eggs

Celery, Cucumbers & (a few) Carrot sticks (for "gotta munch" moments)

Flavor Adders (add to items that would be rather bland or mundane) -- Onions, Mushrooms, Peppers (the more color the better), Bleu Cheese (can you tell I like it ), Shredded Cheddar Cheese, and Spinach (just to name a few)

    Hope this helps someone.
