Ok ladies help me out here. I got a stationary bike, which I am loving, and I rode 10 miles in 35 mins. The bike says I burned 152 calories, fitday says 494 and mapmyrun says 289. Why do these vary so much. Also I weigh 210.5
I used fitday for a long time and I have never even worried about this but now I am wondering if I have been off this whole time.
My main thing is making sure I take in enough calories.
You can't really trust those machines. I just try to get a good idea by how I feel, if I feel like I truly pushed myself, if I'm sore or breaking a sweat. I think some of the machines you can become accustomed to and they become easy or your body subconsciously figures out a way to adapt so that it doesn't get sore -- I don't even know if that makes sense. It's taken me five weeks after a two month dieting and exercising break to get to the losing spot again. I thought I had accidentally put my body in starvation mode because I was seriously burning a ton of calories six days a week and thought I was eating well. Not the case at all. I wrote down what I was eating for a couple of days, and I was over by 20 points (WW talk). That's double the amount of calories I am supposed to be taking in to lose. So I am adjusting, but after one day of tracking what I eat, I lost three pounds overnight. I think I will be back to where I want to be by the end of next month. I think the three pound loss is just more or less like when your body is used to eating a ton and then you suddenly shock your system so to speak by lowering it by a lot of calories. Ugh. Anyways, good luck to you.
