After falling on and off the weight loss wagon MANY TIMES.. I've finally made my goal! When I joined this site three years ago, I weighed in at 227 pounds. I had let myself gain nearly 50 pounds AFTER having my first daughter. I was a size 20-22 and knew that I needed to lose weight, but I just didn't want to be disciplined enough. I convinced myself that I 'deserved' that slice (or three) of cheesecake or pizza.
It took two years to really get the motivation to start losing more than a few pounds here and there. I worked out and ate right and counted calories and got down to 176 pounds at the end of 2007, right before getting pregnant with our new baby. My weight went up to about 196 pounds by the end of my pregnancy, but she must have snapped something into place inside of me, because I have been a losing machine ever since!
My original goal way back when, when I thought it was an IMPOSSIBILITY, was 150 pounds. I weighed in at 149.5 pounds on Saturday, and I couldn't believe my eyes. I am now a size 8-10, literally HALF of my former self. It's so surreal.
While I'm amazed that I've gotten this far, I'm just not content with where I am. While I'm fine with my clothing size, I really need to work on toning up, because I still 'feel' soft. 135 TONED pounds is my new goal.
If I can do it, so can you, trust me! My journey goes to show you that it doesn't matter how many times you fall off track. What matters is making a choice to get back on. You need to be realistic, don't expect not to fail. Don't expect to lose it all right away. Don't expect it to be easy.
