Yayy I did something nice.

  • So I'm slowly shrinking away and I recently got the itch to clean out my closet. Now you should know I have a LOT of clothes. Too small ones from when I was a teen (not so long ago), a few stray maternity clothes, clothes I wore right after baby, and a bunch of clothes that I have just bought- some I wear some I don't. So I donated EVERYTHING I thought I might not wear again- and only kept the ones I would wear. Some things are a little too big but I figured those would be my 'comfy tops' and didn't want to throw out every piece of clothing I own.

Anyway, I had a bunch of pants I got rid of. But some I kept. Mostly because, even though they were too big (i'm a 7 down from 11) that I could make them work SOMEHOW. a lot were really cute and expensive! But yesterday I decided I didn't want them. No matter how cute they were, I don't want to keep clothes around that don't fit me like they're supposed to when I can buuy more really hot looking pants.

So I took 12 pairs of pants: jeans, slacks, cords, cargo pants, everything that was even a size too big and gave them to my stepdaughter who used to wear the same size as me. She was SOOO happy! She's 12 and for her it was like going shopping! They were all really new and well taken care of and she was just ecstatic because lets face it, I have impeccable taste. hahah

So yeah, It was awesome- I feel crazy good for 2 reasons: 1. i made my stepdaughter uber happy and she feeling like she hit the jackpot and 2. I let go of one thing that i was afraid to. like deep down i wouldnt get rid of all my clothes 'just in case'. now that theyre gone i feel like there's no holding me back.
  • congrats, super proud of you!
  • Way to go! That has to be such an incredibly freeing feeling! No that all your clothes are gone, you CAN't go back right! Keep up that great work!
  • good job! i held on to the expensive ones too but i said enough is enough!
  • How fun lucky girl
  • Thats great! I bet it feels wonderful to do soemthing nice for someone else. When i get down to my goal, i think im going to donate alot of my "fat clothes" as well. Much better than throwing them out!
  • Nice! I do that all the time, give my old clothes to my mom or my twin. Things I wont wear.
I don't really keep a hold of my clothes, don't know why. I gave my sister a shirt I liked just because she didn't want to take it off and I didn't want to hear her voice about how much she wanted it. lol.
  • good for you! I'm planning to do the same hopefully by summer when I'm a couple of sizes smaller
