Sweeteners in MRC nutrient supplements?

  • Since I'm a miserable failure on my own, I'm thinking about joining. My main concern is the required supplements. I don't mind using protein drinks, but I need to know if they are going to make me sick before I go in for a consult. I don't care for any artificial sweeteners, but Aspartame in particular makes me very ill in any quantity.

Would anyone care to list the sweeteners contained in the drinks, puddings, etc?

    Many Thanks!
  • i don't have any of my boxes with me but i know there are only two on the list that say they contain splenda. you can call your closest center and tell them that you've read up on the plan and need to know about the sweeteners before you do a consult because if there's no alternative then there's no point.
  • Actually, I tried e-mailing the center, but never received a reply. I'll be nice and assume they were busy with new-years-resolutioners. Guess I'll try the phone route next.

    Thanks!
  • I'm just looking at a box of the Lemonade HNS that I keep at work and one of the ingrediants on there is aspartame - it's quite a ways down the list though. Here's what is in there:
Hydrolyzed gelatin, whey protein concentrate (derived from milk, citric acid. Contains 2 percent or less of: natural flavors, lemon juice solids, potassium citrate, aspartame (non-nutritive sweetner), malic acid, soy lecithin, silicon dioxide. Less than 1% juice when reconsituted. May contain eggs and wheat. PHENYLKETONSURICS: CONTAINS PHENYLALANINE

There are a couple of the powdered drinks that have splenda, I believe all the concentrates are sweetened with splenda. I don't have any in front of me and I'm not sure if there are any that have some aspartame as well. But there are definitely some that are sweetened with splenda (sucralose).
  • I came up with a way to eat runny eggs on toast in the morning without the wait of frying when you are in a hurry.

I cook several 3 min eggs by putting eggs in water before it boils and after the 3 min I take them off the burner and rinse with cold water and refrigerate.
When I get up each morning while my bread is toasting I put my egg in a cup and run hot water over it. When the toast is done I use the spray butter and I carefully peel the shell, it is warm and runny and away I go out the door. Love this stuff
