I'm new here - a favorite prayer??

  • Hi everyone,
    I'm new here and have decided to put God first in my journey of eating as I put him first in all other areas of my life. I tend to hold on to these food problems yet ask God to help me in all other areas. Today my prayer is ,
    I can do all things through Christ who stengthens me...
    Please share your favorite passage/prayer that helps you.

    God bless you all - off to teaching a class of little four year olds!
  • sorry! i didn't realize there was already a similar post here!!
  • this is my favorate prayer...

    God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
    and wisdom to know the difference.

    Living one day at a time;
    Enjoying one moment at a time;
    Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
    Taking, as He did, this sinful world
    as it is, not as I would have it;
    Trusting that He will make all things right
    if I surrender to His Will;
    That I may be reasonably happy in this life
    and supremely happy with Him
    Forever in the next.
    Amen.
  • Here's one of my favorite verses:
    Philippians 4:6,7
    Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
  • This is the day the Lord has made ;let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24.
  • I have always loved THE SERENITY PRAYER -- I have it on a beautiful glass plate on the doorwell between my kitchen & livingroom (a gift from a friend).

    As you can see from my signature, I also like the scripture verse from Phil 4:13 -- "I CAN do ALL things through CHRIST, who strengthens me."

    Plus, Ecclesiastes 9:7 -- "Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart, for GOD hath already accepted thy works."

    And, Luke 12:22-30 -- "Do not worry about what you will drink or eat, nor about your body, what you should wear ... for GOD knows your needs. "

    Psalm 128:2 -- "For thou shalt eat the labor of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee."
