New Here :)

  • Hi,

Like a lot of you, I've been dieting most of my life. I've gone anywhere from a size 4 to a size 12. The cycle is usually 1 year to lose the weight and 3 years to gain it back. Anyway, I'm 30 now and it's a lot harder to get the weight off. Has anyone noticed that with their weightloss efforts?

My problem isn't that I don't want to work at it. I spend a lot of my free time at the gym actually. I LOVE exercise and I am pretty "fit" in the sense that I can run 5 miles without it being too much of a challenge. My problem is the eating. I love it too much. I love to cook (love, love, love Paula Deen), and I HATE cooking things low fat. This causes me to be "pleasantly plump." I'm 5'6 and currently weigh between 150-155, depending on the day. I would ideally like to get down to 140-145, even 135 and be really lean. It doesn't help that I work part-time at a fitness center where all the personal trainers are in super shape, while sit there sucking my gut in my entire shift.

Anyway, just wanted to post my story!

  • I'd just like to thank everyone for saying hello
  • Hey there, I was thinking the same thing about weight and age, lol! I lost about 50 pounds years ago and I kept it off for a few years. But thro a series of bad family events, my weight found me to comfort me. Now I am 31 and I am dieting, again, and I have hit a plateau that is not going down, but actually putting weight on. I have heard for a long time that the old one gets the harder it is to lose weight............Hey, wait a minute, weight loss was easy, lol!!!!..........Any ways, I am struggling w/ dropping weight as well. I am walking in the evenings and following my eating plan. But, welcome to 3FC!

  • Yeah most def the older you get the harder it is to lose. You might as well do it now because it isn't going to get and easier down the road right?

My friends wife is pretty chunky and works at Curves a woman's workout center, I've wondered about that.

Good luck if you are a trainer then you know what you have to do to lose it. And you probably get to work out for free! LOL!

  • Welcome!!!
