hello....helloooooo

  • Hi, I am new to this board. I am a 44 yr old stay at home mom of 5 and a diabetic with high bp that is not responding to meds to well,,,so I started looking into weight loss surgery .....though I am not sure I will go for it ... and am leaning towards not doing it ..I have started the process ...I have to see a nutritionist and loose 27 lbs in the next months for the surgery to happen should I decide to do it....

Sooo for the last 2 weeks I have been eating healthy and trying to cut back my portions...I have no idea if or how much weight I have lost as I don't have a scale...I will find out at my next nutritionist appt. I do know my sugars are coming down..still just tiny bit high but on the way down.

I tend to eat like other people smoke..it is my crutch...I am also about as stressed as ever have been and while I have been doing very well on my own for a couple of weeks I have started to crack just a bit reaching for my food crutch...but pulling back before I eat it...and that brings me to this forum...looking for some freindly faces to work though this with and have a few laughs.

    thanks

  • Hey Z, welcome to the forum!
  • Welcome To The Forum!!!
  • Welcome to 3fc I hope you're successful in the year of 2009!
  • Welcome epiphany!!

Surf around--we have forums for folks considering or have had WLS, we have a 40 something forum, we have forums based on nutrition plan, diabetes, and exercise.

I know what you mean about eating for stress. Sometimes it is that feeling of chewing that is what I need. Gum can help, or red bell pepper strips, or apples and celery.

    Baby steps.....

    I'm glad you're here!!
  • Good luck with your efforts!! Welcome!
