Hello everyone! Its been a week or so since I dropped in. I am looking for some motivation! I am horribly busy with working fulltime, being a fulltime student, mommy and wife. I am always trying to find the happy balance, and I am looking for fun ways to work out and still spend time with our 3 and ½ year old. I know in the summer it is going to be easier because we can be outside, but during the winter months I am having a hard time coming with things any ideas?
Hmmm....maybe you could find a fun at-home workout DVD? I really love the 30 Day Shred...it's only 20 minutes long, and you can definitely feel/see the results! I've heard things about Turbo Jam, Yoga Booty Ballet and Pilates. Your 3 & 1/2-y/o may have fun working out right along side of you to the dancing ones...I used to do that as a kid with my mom!
For some family fun in winter you could try ice skating, taking walks or hikes on sunny days, and shoot, if you live in snow, an old fashioned snowball fight with the family would be fun!
Thanks I guess I never thought of those things with him, I bet he would like them, I just have to find some really up beat ones! Although the weather has been nice here lately so we have been spending time outside.
I know how hard it can be in the winter months! On sunny days (even when it is cold) I bundle my girls up and take them for a walk in the double stroller. I also do a dvd workout and include them and when there is snow I take them out and play in the snow with them. Also just putting on some upbeat music and dancing with them is fun!
Bundle up and build a snowman, or a snow fort. Go for short walks, and give him piggy-back rides part of the time (and pick up the pace) to add to your workout. Play tag outside.
I'm struggling with this too. My son doesn't want to do the exercises with me. He wants to do them on me. If I do push ups he wants to get on my back or jumping jacks wants to run thru my legs. So I either do it before he wakes up or after he's asleep. I'm doing the 30 day shred right now and that's killer
