Your Grocery List...

  • This is always a fun thread when I see them on other boards so I thought I would start one here. That and you get some good ideas sometimes....

    What does your weekly grocery list look like???

    Here is what I bought yesterday, this list is just what I remember off the top of my head and only for a day or two...

    dried cranberrys
    pre done chicken walnut salads from the deli sections
    barilla plus pasta (I cannot stand whole wheat!)
    spagetti sauce
    nuts
    bag salad
    soy milk
    individual pack microwave peas (I love these! You find them in walmart and they are great!)

    anybody else?
  • Weekly: A whole crapload of veggies (I eat between 10-12 servings a day), berries, a few starchy fruits, avocado, tomato, chicken, tuna, eggs, feta cheese, nonfat yogurt or 1% cottage cheese, canned beans, turkey lunchmeat.
    Bi-weekly: ezekiel bread, wraps, steel cut oats, soymilk, regular cheese, hummus, peanut/almond butter, marinara sauce, fish.
    When needed: oils, nuts, raisins, dried fruit, dark chocolate, quinoa, rice, pasta, fancy nut butters (even though i currently have 12 jars.) Any "treat" type foods. condiments.

    Probably more but can't think of them at the moment.

    Beans - all kinds
    corn and whole wheat tortillas
    Broccoli
    Apples
    sweet potatoes
    Natural peanut butter
    walnuts

    I know there is more but I buy the things listed above every week!
  • Things I bought the last few days:

    Bagged Spinach, bagged Salad greens mix
    sweet onion salsa
    skim milk
    mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, cucumbers
    Multi-grain and dark german whole wheat bread
    Tons of Steam Fresh Broccoli
    Canned Spinach
    Balsamic vinegar, olive oil, many herbs and spices (first week at this)
    raw almonds
    2 kinds of cereal that is whole grain but no corn syrup or other sweeteners
    Chicken breast and other meat
    Eggs
    1% cottage cheese
    hummus
    multi-grain crackers and laughing cow light spreadable cheese
    whole wheat tortillas and pitas

    I am on Wave One of the Sonoma diet, so no fruit for a few more days.

    This seems like a lot of stuff, but it is nice to note there is no junk!
  • Here's mine, starting with a trip to the farmer's market

    Lots of fresh fruits and veggies - baby carrots, asian pears, radishes, pears tangerines, green beans, onions (all bought from the Farmer's Market)

    Cheerios
    2% Milk
    Fat-free Sugar free pudding cups
    Healthy choice soup
    skinless, boneless chicken breast
    ground turkey
    Beans
    Rice
    Pita
    Canned tuna

    small red potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, shallot, broccoli, green beans

    limes, lemons, apples, oranges, avocado

    granola, kidney beans, chickpeas, black beans

    Greek yogurt, soymilk, eggs

    cumin, marjoram, vanilla

    frozen artichokes

    I already had:

    carrots, celery, onions, garlic, cilantro, spinach, bell pepper, ginger

    bananas, grapes, kiwi

    brown basmati rice, wild rice, quinoa, oats, lentils, bread, sunflower seeds, walnuts, flaxmeal, cashews, sesame seeds

    kalamata olives, salsa, sun dried tomatoes, dark toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, olive oil, red wine vinegar, S&P, dill, curry powder, pumpkin pie spice, maple syrup, coffee, agave syrup, tea and herbal tea

    parmigiano, butter, tofu

    frozen mango, frozen blueberries

    Didn't find:

    unsweetened coconut

    Forgot:

    dark chocolate
  • Oh, I forgot, I got the kalamata olives too! My husband said, "You couldn't just get black olives or green olives?" Well, no, of course not!

    egg beaters, Canadian bacon
    feta cheese, Laughing Cow cheese
    tapenade
    crackers, quinoa, oatmeal
    a nut butter (peanut, almond, cashew)
    1% milk
    peas
    whatever fruits are on sale
    whatever vegetables are on sale

  • ok - here my fridge/pantry/freezer essentials.

    -baby spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, red peppers, carrots
    -red and yellow onions, LOTS of garlic
    -crushed tomatoes, canned mushrooms, canned beans (black, chickpeas, kidney...)
    -olive oil, red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, every spice i can afford
    -whole grain bread, la tortilla multigrain wraps, whole wheat pita bread
    -pork tenderloin, basa or tilapia fillets, some sort of chicke, extra lean beef
    -plain yogurt, feta cheese
    -brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat couscous, whole wheat pasta
    -apples, oranges, grapes, bananas, any yummy fruit that looks good

    well, that's a big chunk of it anyway....

    anyone else?
