Just joined today....Yay!

  • I haven't been a WW member for years. I am happy to see they are using the 'point' system. The program is called "Momentum", but it seems like the program of years ago, filling foods, high in fiber and counting points.

Anyhoo, the leader was a "debbie downer". Did not have a vibrant personality and pretty much let the audience 'take over'. So her presentation wasn't very insightful or helpful to me.

Anyhoo #2- I do have a question. The points finder slider doo-dad does not easily slide up and down. Actually, part of the outside of the slider is partially torn because I was trying to get it to move easily. Has anyone experienced this? If yes, does it 'wear in' over time?

    Anyhoo #3- Thanks a bunch!

  • Well congratulations on starting! My mother and I started Monday and YES I EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING WITH THE SLIDER! Honestly, I don't use it through. We bought the WW calculator for 10 dollars and it works wonders! Its so quick and easy to use! We also bring it to the grocery store with us to find low calorie meals and snacks! The stainless steal measuring spoons also work wonders and they are so freaking cute! If you buy the WW deluxe kit it comes with a coupon for the spoons, so they were like 17 dollars, and the deluxe kit is worth it. Keep up the good work!
  • The calculator is the best thing in the world! I am returning to weight watchers after 6 years and it means you don't make the common points slip ups....

I joined when I was 16 the first time and I remember working out, somehow!!, that sausage rolls were only 5 points....they are actually 15(for the size i was eating!!!!!!!)
  • I have used both & MUCH prefer the calculator. Way easier to use.

Also great to take shopping. Not nearly as conspicuous as the slider. Looks like a little calculator. People will thing you are just budget-conscious 

Also agree that w/ the calculator it eliminates the guess work. Gives you a points value. End of story. I used to get so confused when stuff would come up as zero points w/ my slider or if it landed on the line.
  • Hello fellow NH-ite!

I'm up a bit from you near the ski areas!

The slide does break in...but I think I'm going to get the calculator, and the spoon sets....need to be better about portion control.
  • I had the same problem with my slider, it does wear over time & get easier. I haven't bought the calculator because I have eTools & can use the calculator online from my blackberry. Good luck & it's great to have you on WW with us!!!
