Newbie in Colorado...ready to lose.....

  • Greetings from Colorado! I am a 35 yr old single mom to a wonderful Toddler, who needs to lose 50lbs. I started at 250 and have gotten down to 190 but am back up to 200 and making very poor health decisions. So it's time for a new year, new start and new me. Would welcome any weight loss buddies, thoughts, ideas and of course, well deserved kicks in the pants are welcome too, when I fall off the "trim" bus

  • Hi Jen, Congrats on the 50 pounds so far. You will get those other 50 off too! What part of Colorado are you in? We live in Colorado right now but we're hoping to get moved to MO. soon.
  • Hey Jen -

We have many forums you might want to investigate...the 100 lb club for those who are on their way to losing or who have lost 100 lbs or more, the 30-somethings for those in that age range...all kinds of places you might fit right into.

So look around, find a spot, and settle in. Can't wait to get to know you better!

First of all what cute puppies! I have two Basset Hounds, that sleep curled up like that too....I am in Arvada, just north-west of Denver. I just recently moved "down" the mountain from Conifer.

Hi, thanks for the great welcome. I just got done reading your goal story and you've already helped me on my weight loss journey! Not only are you a wonderful inspiration, but your tip about making dinner or atleast prepping for it at lunch is a GREAT idea. I too work from home and I can be very lazy about making dinner especially since it's just for myself and my son. But at lunch time I am much more motivated! Thanks!

And I appreciate the suggestions on the forums, I had found the 30 something, but didn't realize I could join in with the 100+ group, so that's my next stop

    Happy New You!

    Jen
  • Hi Jen! I'm 'new' as well so I had to say hello to you as well.
  • Hi Jen, Thanks for the compliment on my poms! The red one is Ginger and the Sable is Sissy. They are both rescue babies! We live in Florissant not to far away from Cripple Creek.

My cousin had a Basset when I was growing up--- Jolly Moose and his name fit him perfect!!! He was a great dog.
