2009 -- Goals, Hopes, Dreams, Plans

  • I copy catted this from the Maintainers forum (sorry Megster ) I thought is was a good idea...

    I am going to sticky the thread and I'd like to come back to it in a couple of months and see if us Feathers have done progress to our "Goals, Hopes, Dreams and Plans"

    So I'll go first I guess .....

    Goals:
    • Reach 135
    • Stay at 135
    • Be at a comfortable bathing suit weight by March, hopefully that'll be at 135
    • Stop using my credit card so much, I always pay it off every month, but I spend way too much on it.
    • Before spending or eating ask myself if it is a "need or a want", and go from there...

    Plan:
    • Exercise with more intensity
    • Eat every 3-4 hours a portion of protein and carb
    • Run -- 3x/week
    • Weight train -- 3x/week
    • Swim -- once/week
    • Yoga -- 2-3x/week
    • Not go into stores with temptations of buying unnecessary "stuff"

    Hopes:
    • I will be more available to my 3FC family, I've been neglecting the my friends here in the last year
    • That my job goes back to full-time, but part-time is fine too, I'll have more time for my friends here

    Dream:
    • Measurements of 34-24-34 .... Hey it's the DREAM section, at 52 I CAN still dream

  • Well, I posted on the maintaners thread, but since I need to lose, I'll copy here:

    Hopes, Dreams, Plans, Resolutions, Goals (that's a mouthful!)

    I want to finally make it to my goal weight and stay there
    I plan on continuing my morning treadmill workouts (which I follow with some ab work and push ups), I hope to increase my 30 minutes to 45 minutes each morning
    I dream of sitting down and not having "tummy rolls"
    I dream of losing my bra fat, but that may not happen on its own

    I know that the BEST way for me to achieve my weight goal is to plan my daily meals with calorie counts so I can keep the calories below 1400. I've done it in the past, so there's no reason why I can't do it again.
  • Hey Lovely Lightweights!

    I've not been on in a while and have fallen off the bandwagon somewhat! What a great time to hop back on though.

    Anyway,
    I'm currently around 125lbs, at 5"3.

    Goals:
    - Lose 10-15lbs (see how ten looks! I've been at both before, but it really depends how fit and toned I am)
    - Get fit again
    - Run a 10k.

    Resolutions:
    - Stick to the goals I set!
    - Keep my gym routine up
    - Eat better!

    Plan:
    2 x Half hour sessions with PT a week for 8 week challenge!
    CSIRO healthy heart eating plan (ish! I have to keep it a bit flexible or I'll give up!)
    40 mins exercise (even just a walk) every day

    Dreams:
    - Be the fittest I have ever been
    - Be fit enough to run the Brisbane half-marathon in the midyear
    - Be completely comfortable in a bikini by 2010
    - Be strong and slim all at once!
    - Have abs that make other girls jealous!

    Seeing my PT on Monday for my measurements for starting an eight week challenge with him... I am nervous but really excited.

    *140lbs
    *Healthy Cholesterol levels
    *Go to a dentist
    *Go to the lady-doctor
    *Kick butt in my job
    *Get on a medication maintenance schedule (no more pharmacy trips!)
    *Stop smoking once and for all!

    Hopes:
    *Get a raise (more than the annual 2%)
    *Get happy, one way or another
    *Feel comfortable in a bikini again!

    Dreams:
    *A New Car (and be able to afford the insurance!!) - maybe an Audi? Or at least a new VW?
    *130lbs
    *A bigger apartment (two bedrooms so I can have a room with a pool table!)

    Plans:
    *Incorporate regular exercise into my full-time lifestyle - and keep it up this time - at 3 times a week, 20-30 minutes each (I don't need a whole lot, just enough to stay active at this point).
    *Figure out how to eat three squares a day without blowing up
    *Get ambitious in my job and make a difference in the breakfast bread business (my industry)
    *Keep a clean and nice apartment so I can have guests without freaking out

    They're not all weight-related, but many of them tie in together (okay, maybe not the new car). I feel happier when my apartment is clean, and when my medication is working, which leads to more motivation to keep on the weight-loss/maintenance track. And a raise would probably help me stress less about bills and such, especially medical bills.
  • Goals:

    To lose weight before going on vacation with 15 relatives in August.
    To paint my living room and refinish my fire place in the next month.
    To give my garden a makeover.


    Hopes:

    To feel better about how both I and my house look.

    Dreams:

    To exercise without setting my self up for a night of pain.
    To have arms that don't giggle and flap when I talk with my hands. Ugh!


    Plans:

    To eat right and get to work on my house!
  • I'm new to the Featherweights forum (I just realized today that I somewhat belong here) but I wanted to post here first.

    Goals: (to be accomplished by the end of this year)
    Be under 120 pounds
    Be able to run for 30 minutes straight
    Develop some killer muscles
    Learn to cook

    Plans:
    1200-1600 calories a day
    Focus on protein, veggies and fruits
    Cook one thing every day, even if it's simple
    Cardio 6x a week for 30 minutes (mix it up, bike/elliptical/treadmill)

    Hopes:
    I hope to stop obsessing about food and my weight all the time
    I hope to learn to love what I see in the mirror
    I hope to learn to love myself
    I hope to meet new people that are good influences

    Dreams:
    To be an athlete
    To weigh 100 pounds (it would be so much easier to run!)
    To stop having joint pain at 19 years old
    To love being me every day.
  • I dream to:
    *Get to a weight where I actually like what I see in the mirror (for ONCE in my life!)
    *Weight 130lbs or less and maintain with little to no fluctuation.
    *Wear a pants size with a single digit (shootin for an 8, but a 6 would be GRAND!!)
    *Feel sexy naked (tmi... i know!)
    *STICK TO A DIET AND EXERCISE ROUTINE FOR LONGER THAN 2 SECONDS!!

    **My doctor would like to see me weigh 115lbs, but that is gonna take a MIRACLE!!

    To weigh 125lbs
    To keep going to the gym 4-5xs a week


    Plans:
    To run a marathon
    To be the fittest/healthiest I have ever been in my entire life!

    Hopes:
    To keep this healthy attiutude and be happy when we move to Australia in 3 months
    To stay fit when we are finally allowed to have kids both before and afterwards
    That I get over my anxiety and become a confident and productive member of society

    Dreams:
    To wear a bikini and not be self conscious. I have never worn a bikini in my life and I want to so bad!!
    To have children
    To be free from addiction and anxiety
    That my husband and I stay as much in love as we are now, forever
    To be healthy and happy
  • Hey, I just noticed this section! I started my 2009 for real almost halfway through the year, but here's what it amounts to.


    Goal: To really establish truly healthy habits - eating, exercise, meditation (still playing around with that one).
    • Diet=calorie-counting and a whole-foods, mostly vegetarian diet.
    • Exercise=a MINIMUM total of 3.5 hours/week cardio and 1 hour/week strength training.
    • To get back up to running ~3 miles at a time, preferably in ~30 min.
    • To set aside time to meditate, to relax and not worry about all the stuff I can't control anyway.

    Hopes: That my goals will actually become habits, and will have some positive effects on my body.
    • That these habits will become my norm and I won't fall off the wagon every single time I am out of my routine.
    • To lose my newly-acquired gigantic unhealthy (33") belly!!
    • Even though I am trying not to focus on losing weight, I really, really HOPE that I can lose some.

    Dream: That these habits will actually get me back to where I was a few years ago before the mid-30s hormonal changes kicked in.
    • Endurance (actually, I'd love to be much BETTER in that arena)
    • Clothing size. I want to fit into my boxes and boxes of too-small clothes!
    • My flat belly back
    • Weight back in the 120s.

    Plan:
    • To actually plan out meals, shopping, exercise schedule, etc. ESPECIALLY when away from home.
    • To use FitDay to track every single thing I eat to the best of my ability.
    • To use the gym for body pump classes (strength training + cardio step), jogging/walking for 30+ minutes at a time, yoga, Zumba. Would like to take a belly dance class if I can find one!
    • To find access to gym classes wherever I am - that seems to work best for me.
    • To use the 30-Day Shred or my yoga CD when I have no time for or access to anything else.
    • To do Couch-to-5K in the fall. (I am hoping to be less heavy by then!)
    • To check in with 3FC regularly and join exercise challenges to help keep motivated.
  • Yeah so it is September but heh I just joined....

    Goal:

    To reach my final weight of 145-150 and then maintain.
    To Run over 500 miles this year

    Hope:

    To be able to wear a 6
    Run two half marathons
    To be able to take classes
    To be able to shop in any store
    To keep my home in order inside and out

    Plan:

    Stick with WW's
    To continue running and incorporate some strength training
    To start classes for my BA in English Lit
    Plan to go on a shopping spree
    Work on a section of my home 4-5 X's/week

    Dreams:

    To reach goal weight and be able to wear bikini
    To wear a size 4
    To have a 24-26" waist :ROFL:
  • Goals:
    To be 115 lbs
    To run 1 hr a day everyday
    To have a wardrobe that suits me and makes me feel fabulous!
    Get those coffee stains off my teeth

    Hopes:

    Fit into a size 3/4
    Stop craving KFC's famous chicken bowl

    Plans:

    Visit that dentist next door to whiten my teeth
    Keep walking 1 hr a day every day then work up to jogging.
    Stop buying things I will never wear.
    Eat more ** yes I dont consume enough calories but, not purposely.
    Drink more water and give up soda.

    Dreams:

    Wake up every morning to exercise.
    Get a great boyfriend...been single for way too long.
    Make more money.
    Be more confident in myself & see what is really in the mirror.
    Travel the world.

  • The list that comes to mind this afternoon.

    Goals:

    Have my favorite clothes fit loosely and be able to wear them for many years
    Do a better job cutting my hair
    Simplify everyday life and needs

    Hopes:

    To enjoy the sunrise every day
    To be as kind and gracious as those who have inspired me so much

    Plans:

    To improve my choices and actions so that I have fewer external needs and more inner peace, resulting in weighing less, having fewer belongings, and more personal freedom. This includes more attention to: keeping the food log, putting as much effort inside the house as in gardening, giving away and selling some things, creating and loving beauty each day.

    Dreams:

    To see thousands of fireflies all at one time again and other such magnificent sights....
