Making a change for the better

  • Hello all,

In 2004 I decided to go back to college and get a BSN (bachelors of science in Nursing) and go for my RN part-time while working full time. After lots of hard work- I'M DONE!

It's been crazy for the last two years and I'm really proud of what I have accomplished... except for who I am physically. I've always been over-weight and in 2006 when my husband lost his job, I put on 20 lbs in 2 months. HOLY COW. So, instead of being 40lbs overweight, I am now 60.

I'm tired of hiding whenever a camera comes out. We have very few pictures of me because I hate the way I look. The last pic I saw of myself I actually thought "exactly how many chins do I have?"

My only concern is starting this new way of life- most likely via Medifast, is doing so before I take the RN licensing exam next month. If any of the SN/GN/RN's have any thoughts, I'm all ears. I predicted well and I had a great GPA so I think I am just hanging onto the past since it is easier to do nothing than to do something.

    Thanks for being here.
