What gigs are in your calendar?

  • hey everyone

just wondering what you guys have booked and what you saw in 2008?

    In 2008 i have seen

coheed and cambria (with fightstar and madina lake supporting)
    reel big fish
    disturbed
    bleeding through
    and comedian jimmy Carr

so far next year i have tickets for

    Feb - alkaline Trio
    Feb - Metallica!!!!!! (!!)!)!!!!)
    April - comedian Ross Noble

im a little excited about metallica as they are AMAZING seats
  • This year I saw:
    Billy Joel
    Toby Keith
    Type O Negative
    Hate Breed
    Iggy pop and
Transibirian Ochestra where Steven Tyler was a guest.

    Iam seeing:
    Phantom of the Opera
    South Pacific and
Spamalot all on broadway in January.
  • i saw a lot of ween and attended the wonderful rothbury festival in lieu of bonnaroo

next year: more ween and the rothbury festival
  • I really haven't planned any gigs but i tend to go to a Drum n Bass party in my city called BreakFast with decent DnB DJ's. (Noisia is kind of obligatory there because their origins are here.)

Bands I have seen live in the past, in no particular order: Masterkraft, Noisia, Eels, Hooverphonic, Therion, Lacuna Coil, JBO, Korpiklaani, The Dwarves, Children of Bodom, Rapalje.
  • I plan on surprising my sister with tickets to Spamalot and maybe Wicked too while they're both on tour in March for her 18th birthday. Voltaire was supposed to go to Jacksonville but the venue he was going to play at closed down, so I'm waiting for him to reschedule so I can go.
  • I saw Iron Maiden this year - my favourite gig of all. It was awesome. Next year I'm hoping to see Nine Inch Nails when Trent comes down in february.
  • Mazza - I just saw NIN in November (in Canada) - if they are doing the same tour in Australia I think you will enjoy it - the show was awesome!!!!!

    In 2008 i saw:

    Apocaliptica
    NIN
    Maiden
    Hatebreed
    Type O
    Dethklok (yes, THAT Dethklok)
    The Police

Not sure who is coming to town in 2009 in my area yet . . .
  • Dark Star Orchestra, Yonder Mountain String Band, 10,000 Lakes Festival, Black Crowes, Family Groove Company, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Umphrey's McGee.

We did have tickets to Jam Cruise - leaves next week - but I had to sell them b/c my DF got laid off.

Am I the only hippie on this board??
  • i know i went to more shows than this, but the only ones i can remember off the top of my head from 2008 were battles and leslie & the lys.

but for 2009 so far i have ryan adams & the cardinals in march
  • Not many bands I listen to tour the U.S, so my show-going is very limited. I am attending, however, a local show & get-together January 2nd.
  • I used to be a show ho but since moving to Korea, that's all down the toilet. Let's see if I can remember:
    The Go Team & CSS
    The Black Angels
    Clinic & Shearwater
    Beirut
    Ladytron & Datarock
    Jay Reatard
    Caribou

Ugh, memory is not serving me well. I'm sure at least 4-5 more shows.

Next to nothing comes to Korea. Jens Lekman came to Seoul but would've been expensive to travel there and pay for the tickets so we skipped it. DJ Shadow came too but we were too tired and also a lot of people said it sucked. My 2009 concert calendar is blank.

    aml, Leslie & the Lys--rad!

Are you seeing Metallica in Sheffield? I got tickets for my son and his GF for Christmas and they're really looking forward to it.

  • Hmmm...money was really tight this year so I only went to see LM.C, Glay, and my main man British Comedian Executive Transvestite, Eddie Izzard
