Mini goal...40lbs lost! :) *pics*

  • So for the past week or so, I've been at a certain weight. This weight is important because it means I've lost exactly 40 lbs. Around 2005, I was around 170lbs---met a guy(a very thin guy with a great metabolism!), we started dating, eventually became engaged. I know it wasn't *his* fault, but his eating habits were terrible. Fried everything, sugar, cookies, ice cream. Terrible. We went out a lot too. So living together, I began to take on his eating habits--which meant little for him, but for me---meant I put on 40 lbs FAST. I don't really know how it happened...how do you gain 40 lbs in like a year??? I knew I was gaining weight, I checked the scale every now and then, but eventually stopped because I didn't like seeing how much I was gaining.

Eventually, I decided I had to snap out of it. It was June 2007 when I decided to do something about my weight. I weighed in at 211 lbs with a height of 5'8" at age 22. I broke up with that guy also...it just didn't work out. By November 2007, I had lost 33ish lbs, my weight hovering around 177. And there I stayed for a year. Until November 2008, when I recommitted to losing weight, this time, I'm aiming for 150! Any way, I'm 20 lbs from my goal, but I thought the pictures might be helpful for someone...so here I am... my before and almost-afters at 40 lbs lost.

The first two are from late 2006. I didn't smile much in pictures because I thought smiling made my face look fatter... lol. I really didn't bother w/make up or anything either.

Last two are from last week or so right at 171lbs. Oh yeah, and I cut and dyed my hair...Enjoy!

  • You look GOOYYYYGEOUS!
  • You look great!!! I entirely sympathize with you. My ex and I were together almost 7 years, and he hated even chicken. He was incredibly picky but only liked the fattening, greasy stuff. I like healthy stuff, but also the bad stuff too, so being with him, during the first year..I also gained about 45lbs. i'ts been a struggle ever since because now I'm more accustomed to the bad foods, as a way of life. You've done great!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work!
