Amazing First: NSV I said no to Baskin & Robbins

  • I have a dinner date with my 8 year old son on Mondays. We ate dinner at home (I have no idea how to figure points for Jambalaya, Oh well!) I stayed OP and then for a treat, we went out to Baskin and Robbins. My boyfriend just moved in with us, so the three of us went out for a treat. They both ordered Sundaes and I was perfectly happy to have n-o-t-h-i-n-g! I enjoyed the visit and knew myself better than to even try a taste of their ice creams.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a first for me. Ice cream is the devil for me, that and any thing fast food, so I have to say...I think I'm on to something here. I didn't want it and had no problem staying OP.

I weigh in tomorrow and can't wait to post my new weight here!!
  • Thats great!!
  • That's really awesome. Sometimes it just better not to have any than to have just a little.

  • That's HUGE. B&R is a huge trigger for me. The rarest of treats for me is a mint chocolate chip cone and it takes all I have to only order a single instead of a double- and yes- the triple scoop.

  • Way to go!!!
  • BIG HUGE HUGS!!!!!! That is awesome! You go girl!!!!!!

I actually had some Breyers 100 calorie cups and I'm not buying them again. They trigger huge sugar cravings and I believe contributed to a not as much as normal loss last week.
  • That's fantastic...and didn't you feel happier not having it than the ice cream would have felt?

That is awesome. I have a recipe for a WW jambalaya I don't know if it is any good though my dad refuses to make anything diet when we have our fish fry's.

There are some foods that I just can't even start with or it's t r o u b l e!! Ice cream is one of them!!

Good plan to not buy more. Some things I do fine with the single serve packs: granola bars, little yogurts and string cheese. Oreos? Ice cream? Not so much!

I did feel pretty good skipping the ice cream. My willpower is amazing this time. I think because I have made this a lifestyle change not just a diet. I feel very strong about my convictions these days. Weighing 153lbs will be so much more wonderful than any ice cream, ever!!
  • did u weigh in then michelle?!
  • YOU ROCK!! Good for you!
  • I did :-)

Hi Paula, I did weigh in the next day. I lost 1.6 lbs. I was disappointed in that a little, I know it's average to lose 1-2 lbs...but last week, i lost 5.5 lbs. I am so glad I didn't have the ice cream. I probably would have cried if I hadn't lost anything!
  • Nice job! What a great NSV to have! I consider joining this forum my first NSV ever! It's a victory to me b/c I finally found help to hold me accountable, and found such a great place where someone or everyone has gone through my experiences and can advise.
  • Congrats on the loss and not giving in to ice cream!
