50 Miles in December Challenge

  • So, with December upon us, it is time to get and

    I know that it is hard to keep up with the exercise program this month. With so much to do, we chicks tend to put what we need last. I know that for the last two years I have completely stopped exercising in December and then it takes months and months to get started again!

    So, for all you chicks interested in keeping track and holding yourself accountable, join me on the road to 50 miles!!!

    We can do it!
  • Since I started the thread, I'll update first.

    Dec. 1: 0.5 miles and 0.75 miles
    Dec.2: 3.2 miles

    So, I'm at 4.45/50 :

  • I'm in! I haven't actually started to exercise for December yet.....we were out of town and today is my first day back to reality.

    I'm just heading out the door for my 4 mile hike.......it will be finished before I come back in the house.
  • I am in for December! My December goal is 90 miles, as I exceeded my 80 mile goal in November. I am also aiming for 1500 minutes of exercise, although I'll be tracking that separately. Doing the Couch25k program this month (starting tonight).

    Dec. 1: 2.8 mile walk
    Dec. 2: 1.65 mile C25k
    Dec. 4: 3.2 mile C25k + extra walking
    Dec. 5: 6.7 mile stationary bike; 1.9 mile elliptical = 8.6 miles
    Dec. 8: 2.5 mile C25k + extra walking
    ---SICK---
    Dec. 15: 2.5 mile walk ---FEELING BETTER---
    Dec. 16: 3.15 mile walk (in the rain...haha)
    Dec. 23 (back on track...for good! ): 3.3 mile walk

    December Mileage Total: 27.7

  • I LOVE this challenge! It has made a huge difference! Thank you! I did not make my goal last month So I am tacking on the 9 miles, and aiming for 59 miles!

    Dec 1: 2 mile WATP DVD; 0.27 miles on the Arc Glider
    Dec 2: 1.11 miles on the Arc Glider

    I got no miles in yesterday. Had an upset tummy all day and couldn't bear the thought of bouncing around!

  • I'm in a bit of a quandry here. I walk 90 minutes a day......in the woods with no way to measure the distance. I walked yesterday on the road so I could later take the car and clock the mileage.......I walked 8.5 km in that 90 minute walk BUT in the woods I'm not probably walking as quickly and so much of it is uphill it must slow me down so I've decided to count my 90 minutes as 4 miles. That might be a bit low but I should still easily accomplish 50 miles.

    The snow continues to deepen so it won't be long till I'll be changing to snowshoes but I still think the 4 miles will be a fair score if it's okay with all of you.
  • I earned 1 mile last night at work. It helped keep me awake! I hate nightshift! Total 6.4/59
    PS* Timlin your mileage sounds fair to me, I love getting to walk outside too. It has been raining, and I haven't had a chance.
  • Hey girls....I have been exercising, just not posting!

    12/2 - 1.65 miles C25k W1D1

    Yesterday - nothing...way too busy. Well, I did walk puppy for a mile, but I don't count that.

    Today - 3.2 mile walk/jog C25k W1D2 plus a little extra walking

    I also PLAN on going to the gym tonight to hop on the elliptical. Hoping to log at least 3-4 more miles.

    Timlin, it's really your call as they are your miles and your goal. I use www.mapmyrun.com to map my outdoor walking/jogging, but I don't know if it would be of any help to you. Walking in the woods sounds kind of scary!

    Zeta, urockmom & Lewis, you girls are doing well! Keep it up!

    I know this will be a busy month, especially mid-way through, so I am trying to stay on target and even get a little ahead.

  • I walked 2.o miles last night at work 8.4/59 miles. Thanks for the support! Everyone keep up the work. It gets hard to squeeze things in during this time of the year!
