Anyone with PCOS got pregnant with BC pills?

  • When I first started taking BC pills, the doctor told me I actually may become more fertile. Off and on, I think I'm mostly safe with BC pills but I'm also wondering if I should either convince my husband to have a vasectomy or consider tubal ligation. Either way, I'd still take BC pills at least until I am completely 'cured'.

So I know I've heard about normal women getting pregnant on the pill but I figure its because they either aren't consistent or are very fertile. I hate the idea of surgery but both are pretty non-invasive. I'm not worried about changing my mind because adoption would be my preferred choice anyway. So I wondered if anyone with PCOS has actually gotten pregnant by consistently taking BC pills?
  • I have PCOS and my doctor told me it will be harder for me to get pregnant. I also have Endometrious. But the POCS causes infertility. I just googled it and the websites I saw all say it's harder to get pregnant.
  • Sorry I meant to say my doctor said with PCOS, once you start taking the pill, you become more fertile. PCOS does cause infertility.
  • I have not heard that sorry. My doctor told me the opposite. I am probalby going to have to get meds to help me get prego. If your uncertain, call your doctor again. I think medical advise should always come from a doctor. I have had PCOS for over 10 years and have been on the pill and no babies for me yet. Good luck and wishing you good health!
  • I think what people are referring to when they mention this is that generally you'll ovulate if you miss a pill so for some women it can signal release of an egg. Some women have taken BCPs for a month or two and had luck producing eggs afterwards. Nothing is concrete though...everyone has different responses to different things.
