I know this was a topic a few months back, trying to organize a get together for everyone but since were spread ALL over the world..it was very difficult.

But I really wanna meet all of you! I am willing to fly and travel, but due to $$$$, the green stuff, that would have to wait a bit. But I am in the north east and I am willing to drive.

Are any of you in the North East area that would like to have a get together?

I can even drive 8 hrs..not a big deal. Thought we could meet up and rock the world.

I think due to money, if we could plan this "out" a little bit that would be great. I'm willing to drive too, its the hotel thing although maybe we could get a group discount.

I know there are a few of us in the NewEngland/New York/PA area...

I would LOVE to meet you all. Although hubby might take some convincing. My SIL just left my brother and it is thought that she met up with someone when she flew out to an E-diets convention.

Oooh, a get together! Mind if I jump in? I think it's a great idea. But like Jenniffer pointed out, it can be difficult because of the expense. How about planning one, for waaaay down the road. It gives people time to save up, and it provides motivation to stay OP. I know that if I were invited to a get together next month, I'm sure I'd find some way to excuse myself from it. But I'm planning to go to one in October and one in November, and that gives me added motivation to get with it.

I personally think January would be a great time, especially for those of us with more weight to lose. It's also nice to start out the year celebrating an accomplishment, instead of writing new resolutions. The only drawback I can think of is the winter weather, especially in the NorthEast. That could make it difficult.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Maybe to save on the expence, we could go to the beach someplace for a weekend and rent a house. I have friends that do that and if we had enough people going it might be affordable. A great way to get to know everyone.

Just a thought. But what ever you all decide, let me know.

Well...looks like am not the only nut who would love it.

Do we try to pick a "middle" ground? (this was extremely difficult when we decided we wanted to meet last time). Or do we plan one in each area NE,SE,NW,SW?

If we plan it for in 9 months or so, this would give us time to save $..I'd be willing to fly then. I am definatly up for this and would like to know who else would be seriously interested in it.

Since it will be January, I say somewhere warm and I agree..a beachhouse would be perfect and not too pricey. But then again, it depends on how many ppl. I love hotels too!!

but just outside AC is a wonderful bird watching place... now THAT puts a smile on my face!!!!

of course, nasus, you and peachie and i can ALWAYS get together anyway. our grandmother used to live in garrison ... and i've actually been to peekskill [and out again, of course!!!]

Jennifer - Let me know if you need any help planning/coordinating the trip - wherever and whenever. I'd be glad to help out. I used to work in the hotel Industry, so maybe I could help out with the room & board stuff. If we have a decent amount of people, you can get some good deals. I still have a friend in the business.
