I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I recently built my own site (which was recently posted on 3FC) and it's through Geocities.

Well a few times a day I can access it because it's hit too many times and the traffic is too much. They say to solve this I should purchase my own URL and so on.....

Does anyone else have this problem????

Thats one of the problems with the free sites. They only allow you so much bandwidth and then it will shut down for a while. Its a way of them getting you to pay also.

Most all free sites will do this. Also if you are working on the site and keep viewing it, that will also cause the bandwidth to be used and cause it to shut down for a while.

Nothing you can do about it, its just the way it is with free places now a days.

Even paid sites only allow you so much bandwidth. But it is quite alot and wont cause the site to shut down.

Just the way of the internet now. Nothing is ever really free.

I've noticed that recently as well. They must have a lot of members now or something because this didn't happen a year or so ago.

I used to have a website with Geocities but changed to netfirms for a variety of reason. I went ahead and paid the $65 yearly fee for more bandwidth and no ads.
