After lurking for a year, I finally registered to say hi

  • Hi everyone,

    I've been stopping by 3 fat chicks for a while now but I've nevered registered or posted. Today I decided to stop being shy and say hi! I love this site. My husband and I have been working pretty hard on our diet and I just wanted to say that even though all you great posters on 3FC don't know it, you've been a tremendous help. Together, hubby and I have lost about 80-100 pounds, I think. (We don't like the scale, but we've each lost about 3 sizes. Sooner or later we'll weigh ourselves or hear what our weight is at the Doctor's office, but we're trying to put it off for a while. I want to wait until I can hear a number under 200lbs.)

    I've gotten a lot of great tips, recipes and information on new products from the forums, and it's been really inspirational to read about individual success stories. I especially like all the before and after pictures. I've spent more than a few hours just reading posts instead of succumbing to food cravings and blowing my diet. Thanks everybody! I hope I can add to the "collective knowledge" in the future.
  • Hi Annie, glad you finally joined in. It's pretty quiet around here on the weekends but I'm sure by Monday things will liven up again. But there's loads of posts to read. I've been here since April and I don't have a quarter of the threads even looked at because there are so many! You and DH are doing great.
  • So glad you decided to join and post! You are blessed that your DH is doing this with you. My husband lost 60 lbs. during my journey it was so helpful to have him right beside me every step of the way!

    I can't wait to see your post after you weigh in at the doctor's office - onderland is just around the corner - hopefully!

    Welcome and congrats on the weight loss so far (& congrats to your hubby as well for tagging along).
    Even if the scale doesn't show weight below 200 lbs, don't let it discourage you. It takes time, so stay focused on what you are eating and on exercise.
