I was thinking of updating my latest batch of weight-loss memoirs that I've been reading as of late since new ones seem to be popping up all the time (yippie!
), and wondered if anyone else had any additional memoirs to recommend.The latest ones I've read that are weight-loss/memoir related are:
1. "Half-A**ed" by by Jennette Fulda
2. "Thin Is the New Happy" by Valerie Frankel (deals with weight, weight loss & body image)
3. "The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl" by Shauna Reid (The American version is out at the end of December unless you order overseas).
4. "Secrets of a Former Fat Girl: How to Lose Two, Four (or More!) Dress Sizes--And Find Yourself Along the Way" by Lisa Delaney
5. "Confessions of a Reformed Dieter: How I Dropped Eight Dress Sizes and Took My Life Back" by A.J. Rochester (She's written a sequel called "The Lazy Girl's Guide to Losing Weight and Getting Fit")
6. "Hungry: Lessons Learned on the Journey from Fat to Thin" by Allen Zadoff
7. "Joining the Thin Club: Tips for Toning Your Mind after You've Trimmed Your Body" by Judith Lederman (A GREAT read for those who lose a huge number of lbs but don't know how to prepare themselves for living a "thin" life after reaching their goal weight. Co-author lost 80 lbs.)
I read those books (and older ones for motivation in my own weight loss journey. Hope this helps anyone else too!
)
