Had my physical today...

  • I'm currently on South Beach (which is a great diet, by the way). For the most part (with the exception of my glucose level - back in 2004 it was too high) - my results have been normal. I was a bit skeptical with South Beach because I don't feel like I'm on a diet AT ALL and I figured my test results would tell the story.

    ****Drum roll please...******

    And here are my results:

Fasting glucose: 98 (less than 100 = normal)
    Cholesterol: 181 (less than 200 = normal)
HDL Cholesterol: 49 (greater than 50 = normal)
LDL Cholesterol: 115 (lower than 129 = normal)
    Triglycerides: 86.0 (lower than 150 = normal)

Everything is normal - with the exception of HDL, but my doctor said that total is what matters the most!!! I want my glucose levels to be lower, but they have gone down one point every year since 2004, which is when I started the diet and exercise regimen. I am a TRUE BELIEVER of South Beach now...I've been on it since mid June and have loved every minute of it!!!!!! Plus, I've losst 20 pounds since being on South Beach...33 total since May!
  • congrats!
  • Congratulations! I have a physical the beginning of December- which is the first time I'll have seen my doctor since I got serious about losing weight. Hopefully she'll be able to detect some changes.
  • Isn't SBD wonderful!!! Congrats on achieving your health goals. Keep up the good work!!!
  • Wowza - great work!

I remember my first "at goal" bloodwork...seeing NORMAL cholesterol numbers (yes, I was 23 with high cholesterol...not so great) was so refreshing.

  • Awesome!!

I just went to the doctor too and now I'm like get me on that scale!!!
I went for my bloodwork after. I don't know my results but I hope they are good.
