so disappointed!!!!

  • iv been doin so well this past couple of weeks until last night......... instead of just going to bed after work i ate pizza and chocolate!!!!!!
of course today im very disappointed with myself but instead of putting it behind me...... i skipped breakfast and lunch to try to make ammends.
so annoyed with myself for eating rubbish yesterday and being stupid today.
will deffinatly get back on track tomorrow!!!
  • Clare- it's ok that you messed up, but skipping meals will actually make it worse. You have to keep feeding your body. You need food to live and survive. Just get back on plan. If you stop eating to make amends, you'll end up binging b/c your hungry. It's ok! We all have messed up and ate stuff we shouldn't have.
  • Don't punish yourself by not eating 2 meals. It's not healthy and it will probably lead you to binge again.

It isn't the end of the road, just a small bump along the way. Just keep your head up and continue on your journey.
  • You have eaten that already - wouldn't you feel better if you thought about how delicious it was instead of focusing on that you shouldn't have eaten it? Not being entirely on track every once in a while isn't that bad. It may make it easier to stay OP on the long term.
  • Can you see yourself living the rest of your life without eating pizza and chocolate ever again? You're doing just fine, don't beat yourself up about it, it's excess baggage
  • if you tend to binge on pizza a lot, like I do, then identify it as a trigger food. Don't avoid it, but find healthier versions of it and make it a regular part of your diet so that you don't feel deprived of it. Ditto for chocolate.
  • I second ghost on this one.. lean cuisine had pretty good pizza's.. and when I absolutely craving chocolate... I buy the 100 calorie packs.

Last time I was craving chocolate, I bought a bar and split it among some of my coworkers. I got the taste, but not (as many) calories. Plus, it was a new flavor of chocolate (the kind with the gooey filling) and so we all got to try it out.
  • It's okay to slip sometimes! Please don't punish yourself so severely. Just get back up the next day and work from there and stay focused. And like ghost said, healthy alternatives exist so you won't have to deprive yourself. It will all be okay, don't worry!
  • I agree with everyone else about the skipping of the meals. Bad idea, because it deprives your body of the necessary calories it needs to function, and can throw you into "starvation mode"--- your body perceives the lack of food as you not HAVING food, and in order to save you from starvation... everything you put into your mouth, it tries to pack on as lbs for you to live off of when the food supply runs out. Silly body...

The best thing to do when you have a slip up like that is to chow down on some catabolic foods during your following meals, in my opinion. Things like cantaloupe, or chicken broth, or blueberries... they're all foods with a low enough calorie count that it takes your body about as many calories to PROCESS the foods as are in that food.
By eating a good amount of catabolic foods, you're getting your body the energy it needs to function through breakfast and lunchtime, without overdoing it on the calorie load... which balances out the excess of calories the night before a little bit!
...if that makes sense. It does in my head at least...
  • You need to learn to accept your mistakes and learn from them rather than beat yourself up.
  • Do an extra work out and call it even
  • I find a little bit of a mess up tends to help me see the weight go....
especially a couple of days down the line....
i messed up friday, took my plateau away and now im down by 2.6lbs from last friday....
    crazy!....
  • thanks everyone for your encouraging replies x
