I have lost 100lbs since last March. 2 months ago I went into the ER with what I thought was chest pains on the towards the lower right side. I ended up having my Gall Bladder taken out a couple of days later. Has anyone had this problem as a result of weight loss, or any other problems after losing a lot of weight?
Depends on how you lost it...
I t hink it is very common to lose gall bladder after WLS or the silly shake or protein bar diets. Not sure exactly which ones - but any diet which is too low or missing some combinations of food can cause this.
I also had to have emergency gall bladder surgery removal after losing 50 pounds. But, I had been eating a really healthy (not WW - but might as well have been) diet. That was 3 years ago and I've since gained back about half. I just started WW almost two weeks ago and now feel back on track.
