I work in a cafe and I am always cooking and making coffee. I have to fight a lot of temptation. I'm always baking brownies and cakes. How do you guys resist? And does coffee make you gain weight?
I cant help you out in the eating part cause i am guilty of that. But coffee should not harm you. Unless you are using tons of cream and sugar. Just remember that it is a diuretic so you need to drink a little more water.
That would be a very difficult situation - I probably couldn't resist for long. I'd have to make very strict rules for myself like "no eating any cafe food." If I left myself any wiggle room, I'd end up eating 3-4 scones per day.
I can't give up coffee, I only drink it black, which is very low in calories. As for the baking, when I cook at home I chew gum to avoid the nibbles. If that isn't enough I'm not tempted to take the gum out because the minty fresh is still there and would taint any flavor I may want to taste!
I don't drink coffee so I can't help you there. As for avoiding the pastries and such, I just picture them in there broken down state of how much butter, lard and sugar are in them and imagine that in my veins and heart. That IMMEDIATELY makes me not want it!
I worked in a bar/grill while in collage, and it was hard not to sample...though the hardest part was after my shift, when the girls would all sit down an split a couple pitchers of beer and plates of nachos. That did it for me, I started gaining weight like crazy. Unfortunately as the weight came on, the tips dropped off. Motivation to leave the treats alone is this, (unfortunately it's a cold cruel world), the better you look, the more tips you get.
Oh and coffee...I drink probably a quart or more every morning, (black) and I continue to lose weight.
