Hi there!

  • Hi everyone! I've just joined this site so thought I'd say a little about myself I'm 26 years old and just found out that I weigh 222 pounds which came as quite a shock to me, though I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. I've been overweight most of my life but this is the most I've ever weighed and I can't take it any more. It's so uncomfortable and I constantly feel like a big blob. I tried Slimming World a few years ago and managed to lose about 21 pounds but that quickly piled back on again, along with a load of other weight once I left. This time I'm trying things my way, cutting down on fat and sugar, eating smaller portions and only eating when I'm hungry. I know I can do it but I'm really lacking the support at home. I kept getting the 'I love you the way you are' line which is sweet but not at all motivational or encouraging, especially when coupled with the 'Congratulations for losing 3 pounds this week...here's an enormous pizza to celebrate' line I'm really hoping I can find the support I need here...I know I can do it...and I'll try to offer everyone lots of support in return

We'd definitely like to support you as you lose weight & get healthier!

You may want to check out the 20-somethings & the UK chicks, but please post wherever you're comfortable.

Feeling good about losing 3 pounds, and rewarding ourselves is wonderful. Rewarding ourselves with food... not so wonderful. Just remember, you can always say "No, thank you. "

    You can do this!

  • Not only can you do this, we can do this!! and we will!

I am 29, and started at 218... feeling the exact same way as you. We would love to be here for you. You have made the decision to be healthy!
Like Faerie said - rewarding ourselves with food is not so good, its what got us here to begin with. I still struggle with this concept but i struggle alot less than i used to. I hope to see ya around sometime!
