Loosing weight, but not seeing it...

  • Something is up, i just know it.

A week and a half ago I was sitting at a very steady 132 which lasted about a month. It was frustrating. Then all of the sudden, I came back from a weekend away last Sunday and I was down to 127. I get on the scale again today (saturday), and it says 125.

The part I don't understand is that I look the EXACT same!

Now, I've done pretty well with eating, haven't gone over, haven't gone out to eat. But I also haven't really exercised in the last 3 weeks. I went running once this weekend, other wise I did a few odd strength exercises here and there. Am I loosing my muscle weight?

    ahhhh
  • Same, I've lost almost 40 lbs, and I'm not seeing it.
  • garstar, those seven pounds came from all over your body, that is why it is hard to see. Do you take your measurements? That is sometimes a better gauge than the scale.
  • I had to lose about 20 lbs before I could see a difference. Even at that point, neither my DH or DD noticed anything.
  • That makes sense. No I haven't taken measurement, just pictures.

I suppose it takes more to see a difference. Also, I'm sure that exercising more will help, loosing fat and creating more muscle.

Any one have any good cardio ideas for someone like me who has really bad knee pain? Thanks!
  • Sometime a smaller amount of weightloss is hard to see for ourselves and people close to us... Using other forms of measurments such as pics, a tape measure, or the pant-o-meter is a much better gauge...
  • Aren't your clothes fitting different? I like to use my waist measurement as a barometer for weight loss.

You totally sound like me! I really like the idea of doing cardio, but I can't run 2 min without my knees throbbing!

Then....I fell in love with the Elliptical Machine. Low impact, and I get a good sweat without the pain! I've also heard swimming is good too on the ole joints, but I hate water! (Strange I know!)
