I got to meet him once - he was 67 and I was 26. And I think I fell in love.

He was an amazing man in all respects. My thoughts are with his family.

    .
  • They don't make 'Movie Stars' Like that anymore...
    One of the true greats...
  • Sad to hear of his passing.

    An amazing actor.
  • not just actors, they don't make movies like that anymore!

    RIP Newman! you'll be missed!
  • how sad.

my personal Paul Newman 1 degree of seperation story:

my mom as a very very young woman (about 18/19 and not yet married) worked at MGM in New York in the office (oh the people she met the stories I know) and when he was in the office and it was leaving time, he didn't want her to have to take the subway and it was on his way!

he was a true gentleman... already married to Joanne so not hitting on a young girl.....
  • Very sad. There aren't many people out there like that! My thoughts are with his family.
  • I can't tell you how bummed I am about his passing. I knew he was sick and all but, wow I am so sad. My son and I are watching Cool Hand Luke right now. For me, Newman and Redford movies just bring me back to being a kid, especially Buch Cassidy and The Sting. Can't say enough how sad I am that he died and how much he'll be missed. Cripes, it's like an era ended, you know?
  • DITTO to what HAT TRICK said.

When I was younger...I was told often that I had Paul Newman eyes...
  • He will be missed. Sounded like my X was ready to cry when he told me.

    "I'm shakin' the bush, boss."
  • Another legend has left us. May he RIP.
  • Oh I've been out of pocket today and hadn't heard. How sad. He seemed like a genuine, caring person.
