Oh jeez - Bad day

  • I've had an awful, boring weekend; been slapped in the face [metaphorical] by a bunch of good friends; and just want to crawl into bed.

    I've been good...I had two small pieces of chocolate, 1 more than usual, and that's upsetting my stomach. For some reason though...I want to go back for more. *sigh*

    My weight is bouncing a little. I'm up 2 pounds from Friday, but I know it's no biggie. It's just normal fluctuations...

    I need to go drink a ton of water and take a long bath. But I have zero ambition to do anything but curl up in bed with a pint of Ben and Jerry's and cry for a while.

    Oh, and my once like-clockwork period is still NOWHERE to be seen. Wunderbar...
  • Oh it's okay....why you don't you grab a pen and paper and let your feelings flow? Sometimes that can really help clear your mind and if not, go watch your favorite movie or something therapeutic... ben and jerry's wont make you happy though - just remember that
  • The smallest little things stress me out and then i just want to binge...for instance...problems w/ my car yesterday led me to eat 2 pieces of chocolate, a cookie, potato chips AND a spoonful of ice cream........you're right Spoz..its good to let out how your feeling by writing/blogging about it or even in a journal...as well to find OTHER things to occupy us when we're 'stressed' and therefore tempted to eat!
  • Take the bath!
  • How about substituting any of the following for the ice cream?
    • bubble bath
    • foot massage
    • pedicure
    • good book
    • favorite music (extra points if you dance while listening to it)
    • yoga, meditation or prayer
    • cup of herbal tea
    • look through your favorite pictures
    • go read the comics online (laughter is GREAT medicine)
    • call a friend (not one of the ones mentioned in your post)
    • read old letters or yearbook (usually good for a laugh)
    • clean a closet (OK this one is a stretch)
    • try on your "fat" clothes - and remember how far you have come
    • experiment with makeup or hairstyles - just for fun (can be done with your picture virtually at clairol.com)
    • take a walk
    • start Christmas shopping online
    • chop veggies for the coming week (be careful with sharp knives )
    • snuggle a pet (or stuffed animal if no pet is available)
  • Go pamper yourself, you deserve it. Have a nice hot bath, give yourself a pedicure, then start fresh tomorrow. That's all you can do.

    I had a weekend from ****, work was stressful. So last night I ate 5 pieces of pizza and had a beer. I'm feeling guilty.... But, all I can do is start fresh tomorrow...



  • I know exactly how you feel and I have had many of those days myself. Drink that water and bath, curl up with a good book....tomorrow is another day!

    thought the other half was gona finish things....
    wasnt a happy weekend at all....
    i ate three home made cakes yesterday that i didnt plan to eat!....
  • I took the bath, but that just delayed it. I had a mini-binge yesterday with angel food cake and milk. It's OK. Kind of got it out of my system - controlled damage.

    Been on the straight and narrow since then, though. Even got in some exercise today! :P

    Thanks all for the words of encouragement. It really helps being able to come here and vent my spleen.
