Cute but Comfy Shoes?

  • I am a shoe-holic! My love for shopping for shoes has not waned one bit unlike shopping for clothes right now. I am a firm believer in finding cute but comfy shoes. I was not a shoe-holic for the longest time since for most of my life I had to special order my shoes since I had such a narrow foot but no more thank goodness. My current problem still is that I have a very narrow heel and sort of longish feet. But usually if I get a Narrow it's a tad bit too tight now but yet I have to wear thick socks if I go with the B medium width. Then some brands don't even make narrows. I also work with children all day and I have to be able to move quickly and I need a lot of support since I really am not sitting down all that much except on my lunch break and I am not used to that. So no filmsy high heels for me either. Any suggestions on cute but comfy brands? I am finding that I really love zappos.com. I just ordered some clarks, and then sofft shoes. Anybody have some of those?
  • You might like some of J-41's models with a fashion-looking upper and a hiking sole: I have a couple of pairs (a ballerina-style and a Mary Jane). I don't think my feet are quite that narrow so I don't find them that comfortable (yet: I haven't worn them enough to break them in) and end up falling back on my Tevas (which are comfy enough right out of the box: Teva must use a wider last), but I will wear the J-41s on occasions when I need something a little dressier. YMMV.
  • The brand Sofft makes unbelievably cute and comfy shoes and they come in narrow. Try them out....since i feel they seem to run a pinch small. I love them though....they are comfy...here's a link their home page

  • I bought some cute sandles at wal mart from Doc Shols. ( might be spelled wrong )
  • I LOOOOVE shoes!!! I usually go to Herbergers, Neiman Marcus, Macy's...I check ebay...you can find some awesome hardly worn designers on there ---that's where I got my Prada's. Ann Taylor has some nice, comfy heels too. I don't have narrow feet though...just normal. So I don't know how much that helps...
  • Cute + comfy? Oximoron. Sorry.
  • I am a HUGE Skechers fan. I have .. oh 5 or 6 pairs of them that I wear almost all the time. I wear them when I photograph weddings because they're comfortable enough to be on my feet all day ... but I always get compliments on them; on how cute they are.

Check 'em out online. Right now this is my fave pair - I foresee that they will become my fall/winter shoe of choice!

  • Gator- I am anxiously awaiting my order of the Sofft shoes. I should have them by Friday. I am so glad I came across that brand on zappos.com. I have looked for them at the mall I have nearby and there was just not very much selection at all. I've heard other people say good things about them that they are comfy but cute.

Photochick- I LOVE skechers as well. Most of them are just a bit too casual sometimes though for me where I work now. Despite me working at an elementary school most of the women there dress very nicely and I have felt woefully under-dressed at times since I am having to slowly add on things to my wardrobe and shoe wardrobe. I do need to replenish my supply of skechers though lol. I've worn out two pairs I had and my last pair I have they are fading fast. I love wearing them with my jeans on Fridays which is when I am allowed to do jeans.

Carinna-LOL sometimes I feel that way too!

Mxgirl-Thanks for all the department store suggestions and for the ebay suggestion. I hadn't even thought of that since some of the brands I love are just too expensive and I have tried them on before I knew the price oops.. Needless to say I left the store very quickly since 100 dollars is really my max.

    Another- I don't know what J-41s are?
  • Quote: I don't know what J-41s are?
Actually they're a spinoff of Jeep. Here's their website: http://www.j-41.com/ Look under "Trail Casual" or "Sport Outdoor"

zappos has their shoes, and I've also seen them in many catalogs (Gaiam, Sahalie ...)

Also another catalog/website you can check is footsmart.com, they don't have the J-41s but they have Tevas, Soffts and other comfortable brands
