rapid water weight loss?

  • For over the past week I have been carrying around so much water weight. I went from 126 to about 131 and stayed around 130 for the past week. I knew it was from bad eating one day and drinking a lot on my 21st birthday. Although it was frustrating I kept trying to stay OP, drink a LOT of water and exercise regularly like always.

Anywho, yesterday morning I weighed myself at I was 129. Since, I have a dial scale I put one of my 5lb hand weights on it to make sure it was accurate, which it was. THIS morning I weighed myself again just out of habit and I was 126 again! I even put my hand weight on again to check accuracy.
I'm just curious how the heck 3 pounds of whatever fell off in a day.

Oh well, I guess I should be pretty stoked.

has this happened to anyone else?
  • This happens to me all the time. Actually, I seem to lose in fits and starts with two and three pound drops from one day to the next, and then staying even for a few days, even a week or two, and then BAM three pounds down. I keep thinking it has to have something to do with the sensitivity of my digital scale because I am VERY consistent with my exercise and eating, but I have put myself on my mother's old fashion scale from time to time, and it seems to correlate pretty well to what my digital one tells me in the morning. I just don't know what to make of it, but since I still 'average' about two pounds a week over a month period, I just have decided it is one of life's mysteries...
  • it's water weight.... you should be able to after time KNOW when you'll weigh lighter... you run to the bathroom the day before like every 20 minutes.
  • I got this thread confused with the Does It Work forum and thought this was some new weightloss plan oops.

I agree with nessa- I know I'm dropping water weight (especially after TOM) when I'm running to the bathroom all the time. And I do the hand weight thing too because sometimes it's really kind of freaky!
