Good morning all. I thought I would stop by early before I go to work
I did not get all my exercising in the last two days and it will show on Thursday. I have done some every day but I have found I must do a lot of it or I do not leave. Saw the doc yesterday and my thyroid has greatly improved but I am still on borderline so she is increasing the dosage some.
other that that I am doing ok. We have really cut our bread out. We have not totally given it up but have cut waaaayyyyy back.
Well i have to go.
It is nice to see so many getting in on challenge. I do better with the short term ones. That way if I am not doing good I know a new one is just around the corner.
have a great day to all of you. You are very special people
Good morning
Well hi Eleni-Glad things are improving for you. Watching your bread that is a really good step. You can make this.
I had a .25 pound lost Monday, and installation. It was nice. I felt weird cuz, I was the only new officer. But it was nice.
Work-going. Still working on the decision. Didn't exercise yet today, but will. Slept a lot yesterday when I got home. Still tired.
Other than that not much going on.
Hope everyone has a great day.
HUMP DAY
Good Morning Ladies
Can you believe it is Wed already. Boy time sure does seem to be flying. Well we had weigh in last night and installed the new officers. I lost 3/4 lb for 2 weeks. Was suprised with that. But will take it. Hubby gained 1/4 lb. I am just amazed that I lost. On my scales it showed a 2 lb gain. I had had my scale set with the ones at TOPS. So that is why I thought I had a gain. Boy did I get a surprise at the meeting last night. I got it for the quarterly best loser. I lost 14 3/4 lbs. So I won a set of bath towels. I could use those.
I was to lazy to go back through the threads and reread them. But I want to thank the lady(ladies) who put in the Out going Officer poem and the rededicated poem. I printed it off. I didn't figure the group would want to hear them. So I showed them to the new co-leader and leader. And they liked them so they did those. And the ladies seemed to like them. And also the game. About putting rocks or marbles or stones in a jar. And taking one out for every pound lost. And putting it into another jar. The leader and co-leader seemed to like that idea also. But they wanted to know what you win at the end. I said I dont know. I guess the feeling that as a group we lost that much weight. So they want to come up with some kind of prize for the group. So I guess we are going to start that in May. This month is pretty busy for us. Next week we are doing pepperoni rolls (fund raiser for group). Just weighing in no meeting. Then on the following Tues we are having a guest speaker. And then the following Tues is our Spring Banquet. So that will be our month of Apr.
It is raining here again this morn. Is suppose to rain off and on all day with dropping temps. So I guess I will ride the bike today. Havent done it yet but will here in a little bit.
Again Thanks for the ideas. I am sorry I don't remember who posted them. I guess I am going to have to start making a list so I can remember. I hope everyone is a loser this week. I am sure we will have alot of lighter ladies on this board this week. Everyone is doing great. Keep up the good work. Everyone stay OP. Hope everyone has a good day. Take care!!
A TOPS PAL
Eleni,
That is great that you are cutting way back on bread. That will help a lot. You will see a difference there for sure. Also I am glad your thyroid is getting better. That is good they are upping the meds to get it under control. At least you are doing some exercise. Some is always better then none. Keep going and you will be fine. You have what it takes to do this.
Wendy,
Congratulations girl. I am so proud of you. See I knew you would have a loss. Any loss is a great accomplishment in my book. You can get back on track and start the week fresh and have an even bigger loss next week. Congratulations on Co Leader also. Now you are official. Are you excited now about the year? Maybe knowing you are co leader now will help you to stay focused with your plan now. I am hoping it will do that for me. I am drinking 1 cup of green tea with 2 bags in it in the afternoon for energy. I am almost falling asleep in the afternoon. Then last night I drank some an hour before I went to bed and when I got up this morning I had all kinds of energy like I did last week. So I guess that is what I am going to continue to do. Within 10 min of drinking it you are reenergized it is amazing. Maybe you should try that. They say that the caffine can keep some people up at night but I sleep all night long without stirring.
You can do this yes you can.
CoCo,
Congratulations on your loss also. That is great. See that just motivated you to keep going.LOL Remember to write down everything you eat and you will have a great loss next week. Sounds like you are doing better then your husband.
Hey best loser for the quarter. What a great acheivement to know that 14 lbs are gone FOREVER girl. You are doing great. Keep up the great work. You know what is working for you just start fresh again today and you will have a great loss next week. Keep up the walking. See it is helping. Did you take your measurments yet? You will see a big difference there also. That will keep you walking when you see the inches fall off.
I am back on plan today. I did gain 1 lb yesterday but it was all the carbs I had. I knew I overdid it. But I am not worrying about it. It is over with and today is a new day. I will eat more fruit today in place of the carbs and protein today. I will only have 1 serving of carbs today and 3 servings of protein today. They will be eggs. They are low in cal and fat compared to meat. Then I will get the rest of my points in with extra fruit. Then I will have a loss at the end of the day.
Well I have to work all day today to get in some hours to get money for my trip in 4 weeks. My parents are taking megan to her class today for me so I can work. So that will help.
Have a great on plan day and remember we are worth it. Everytime we make a healthy choice we are getting closer to our goals.

Good Morning everone,
Coco, congrats on the loss last night. What a pleasant surprise to think that you have gained and have a loss instead. And over 14 pounds for the quarter, that is really great. Congratulations!!!
The marbles represent your chapters weight loss so far that year. It's a visual aid to show the members how well we are doing. I like to think of it as putting marbles into a jar. When we take them out it means that we have had a gain that week. Everyone hates to see them taken out. We use 2 quart jars, which will hold over 200 marbles each. (One jar is really just a place to keep the unused marbles.) Also, we count the weight losses from the first of January to the end of December, like we do on the resumes. We tied a ribbon around the jar that we are putting the marbles into so we can't get the jars mixed up.
I think that Summer posted the outgoing officers poem, which I also copied and am saving for next year. I thought it was a great poem and hadn't heard it before. We had our installation last week.
Wendy, Congrats on your loss, also.
Eleni, 10 lbs loss since your last visit to the DR. is great. The adjustment in your meds will probably help even more. I will try your suggestion of using a pillow between my knees. Thanks.
I think that I will go as Judge Judy on fun night at SRD. Everyone should recognize her.
I'm feeling much better today. The anti-inflammatory pills must have done some good after all. Also, I didn't drink any water after 6 pm yesterday, and got more sleep.
Thought for the day:
Failure is not falling down....failure is staying down.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Nita
Hello ladies!!!! Beautiful day here. Wanted to do some raking yesterday, but it was sooooo windy and it looks like today will be the same. I know it would be great exercise...but a losing battle with trying to gather the dead grass. lol
Eleni, thanks for starting off our day. Glad the thyroid is better. Sounds like that might be helping with the weight loss too. You are so smart to cut down on the breads.....it helps me tremendously. I will be getting in on the challange also.
Wendy, I'm glad you had a loss. Sounds like you are going through alot and getting abit overwhelmed. That will take the 'ooooph' out of a person causing tiredness. Take care of yourself.
Coco, I'm happy that you liked those poems. They came from an old coordinator in her 'installation' ceremony that she would do for chapters. YAHOO on your loss also!!!!
Sherri, Don't worry abut those carbs.....but try to be more aware BEFORE they go into the mouth. The past few days, I am stopping and asking myself whether I TRULY want what is about to go in. Sometimes it is 'yes' and I know that it will be my fault when I don't succeed. This has made me a lot more aware since I am one to grab whatever and not even think about what I'm doing until afterward.....then I want to kick my butt....and start the viscous circle.
Nita, I love your saying today......so true!!!! I'm glad you are feeling better today. I also sleep with a small pillow between my knees to keep my hips in alignment. I am a side sleeper and have been doing it so long that I even turn over during the night and never lose the pillow. lol!! I had lower back surgury 17 yrs ago and the pillow has helped tremendously. Find a pillow that is the right size for you....just might help. I also like the marble idea.
Tonight is my meeting and we shall see what happens on that 'metal monster'! Been really trying to be good. Walked only 1/2 mile yesterday....but at least it was something. Would have like to have been gone longer, but had to be back home. I drew up our new yearly weight board. It is a graph on a big poster board and depending on whether we gained or lost as a chapter, it gets colored in red or black. It is a good visual for the chapter to see how they are doing. I call it our 'Way of Weigh's'. We lost 55#'s throughout the last TOPS year.....now for the start of a new one!!!
Hope everyone else not personally addressed has a wonderful day and know that I am thinking of you all and rooting you on. Hey CC, MISS YA........COME BACK.......here are some of those {{{{{{{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}}}}}}} calling out your name. Here are more for the rest of us....spreading to all corners of North America....{{{{{{{{{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}!!!
TOPS Hugs,
Summer
Wednesday daily thread
Hi all,
I have been absent again...sorry. Somedays I don't know what I do with my time but it seems to go very quickly.
Eleni...... Glad to hear your thyroid is improving. I have cut back on bread too but it is so hard. I know I have to cut back even more.
Wendy..... Congratulations on the loss. Glad the installation was nice.
Coco....... That is great the scale was off in the right direction.....nice to get surprises like that.
Sherri...... Glad you are back on track. We all have our off days but the big thing is to get back on track before we get too far off.
Nita..... Glad to hear you are feeling better today. I like your saying too.
Summer.... I want to add my thanks for posting the poems. It was too late for the outgoing officers but I passed out the Rededication Pledge today and everyone liked it. I think the big board with the weight losses and gains is a great idea. I should see if I can do one up for our chapter. I am not very artistic and nothing looks good that I do up. Good luck with weigh in tonight.
As for me....I had a gain today. I figured I would because we went out to eat twice and there was a lot of salt. I didn't overeat on the weekend and didn't have any chocolate. Maybe it is something from last week catching up to me..I suspect it is the nights out and the first time we went out....I drank a lot of pop. We had our awards today. Again....like our installation....nothing fancy but it was great to see people getting their recognition.
I guess I should get back to work. Hope everyone has a great evening. Talk to you soon.
Marie
