  • when I weighed in yesterday they said they are having an open house event next wednesday to discuss super foods that they are introducing into the program. They said that including these super foods into your daily intake will speed your weight loss. Has anyone heard about this? I am anxious to know which foods these are...
  • I would also love to know, keep me posted on any info you get!
  • here are my guesses......
    grapefruit
    almonds
    soy products
    whole grains
    steel cut oats
    brocolli
any very dark leafy green vegetable
    black berries
    raspberries
    nuts and seeds
  • I KNOW WHAT THEY ARE!!! They are the foods we know we are supposed to eat, but don't! LOL Seriously though....ever hear of the Abs Diet? It lists almonds and other nuts, beans and legumes, spinach and other green veggies, "good" dairy (fat/lowfat cheese, milk, and yogurt), oatmeal, eggs, turkey (and other lean meats), all-natural & sugar free peanut butter, olive oil, whole grain breads and cereal, whey protein powder (although LAWL does NOT recommend this), and raspberries (and other berries). These are considered "power foods". If you find out what LAWL lists, would you please fill us in???

  • Lolene's post was right, those are the super foods and here are the rules of the game:

    1. at least 1 super fruit and/or veggie per meal
    2. at least 1 super protein per day
    3. at least 1 super starch per day
    4. at least 1 super fat per day
    5. at least 1 nonfat plain yogurt per day
    6. at least 1 cup of tea per day
    7. start each day with breakfast

One thing I wanted to note - the booklet makes no mention of portion sizes, these are based on your plan sizes.

I'll keep you posted on how its working for me...
  • Is there anything you can do to make the nonfat plain yogurt taste better? I can't stand it on its own.
  • I made mine into a smoothie with the blueberries... still not delicious with the non-fat plain yogurt. I may try adding 1 packet of splenda. Also, I printed out the nutritional value of the dannon light & fit vanilla and the plain yogurt and they are just about the same... not sure why it makes a difference... I'm going to take this to the center today. I'm also going to ask for an alternative because they say that there are alternatives, but they are just not as good as the superfood itself...
  • I have added a little Splenda and sprinkle some sugar-free gelatin into my plain yogurt to give it a tolerable flavor..I can't eat it by itself. Too bitter.
  • Has anyone tried these tips? Have you seen a increase in weight loss?
  • bumping
  • So, are these working Julie? Have you seen some weight loss in the last week?

  • I have! I don't know if it's directly tied to the super foods, but I did lose a pound and I've been stuck for quite some time... It might be just that I'm getting a little more variety than I had before.

The things that I have been sticking to EVERYDAY are - switching coffee for green tea, eating a yogurt blended with blueberries, almonds, and cherry tomatos. I always get my grains in with my bread choice and most days I have turkey for lunch.
  • Anything more on this guys??
  • I know this is an older post, but I just typed this out for someone else and thought I would share it here. Some is already typed out above, but this has the 'sidekicks' and some combos. I haven't tried this yet, but might think about it this week, especially after yesterday! Has anyone else kept up with the super foods and seen any good losses?
