At the beginning of the summer I weighed 168, and I was determined to lose as much as possible by the time I went back to school in August. So far so good, but I'm wondering where my ultimate goal should be. I picked 145 to start because the last time I dieted in high school, I got down to 145, and it's the lightest I've been in my adult life.
People tell me I look great, and I've had one or two suggest that I not try to lose past 145 because then I'd be "too skinny." But looking in the mirror, I still am not totally satisfied - I carry my weight in my hips/butt/thighs, and I'm still unhappy seeing those bulges on my body. So I'm not sure if I should stop when I reach 145, or if I should try to get closer to 130 (BMI = 21 for my height).
How did you choose your goal weight? Is it set in stone or are you still not sure how far you'll go? What factors influenced your choice? I'm just wondering what I should shoot for!

. I know I want a weight that I can sustain without managing my food as closely as I am now. I'm trying to build a new lifestyle. I'll see what happens.
). She said her lowest weight as an adult was when she was running a lot, shortly before she got pregnant with me. It was 118. After my brother and I were born, the lowest she said she could get to was 125. So I've decided 125 isn't an absurdly high weight for me to get to, and given how much I'm working out 120 probably isn't unreasonable either. Mom was very helpful!
