Body feeling good, but memory? Not so much

  • So, I've lost 19 pounds and just joined Curves yesterday. I haven't worked out since I've changed my eating so I'm excited.

But.......... since I've changed my eating my body feels great, I'm not hungry, and I have more energy. But my brain! I can't remember things that I normally can. My boss asks me what I've done and I just look at him like he's crazy b/c I can't remember. I've always been so good at remembering everything. Now, not so much. I don't know if my mind's wondering while I do it and I just don't retain it. My work is right and good but can't recall what I actually did.

Does this have to do anything about me changing my diet? I'm not eating refined sugar, low carbs, low cal (was at 1,200 but now around 1,450).

I love the fact that I'm losing weight, but hate that my memory has left for vacation.....
  • How low carb are you going? I've been told your brain needs a certain amount of carbs to function. Now, granted, the number is low, but still. You may have to tweak your diet around to see if that helps. Everyone's body reacts differently to different things. There is not one way of dieting that works for everyone.

I think you should go to your doctor and ask him/her for suggestions and input on your weight loss plan. At the very least, it couldn't hurt.
  • On oprah Dr Oz Stated that spicy foods that use curry stimulate brain function and can help to keep it heathy
  • I've been around 60g of carbs a day. I don't think it's that low, is it?

That's funny about spicy food. I've been craving and eating spicy food the last 2 weeks way more than I ever have.

I just moved to CA and I don't have insurance or a doctor yet. I don't want to go unless there really is a big need.
