Hungry

  • For today my calories are already at 1336 and it's only 3:45PM. I am super hungry right now, on the verge of a massive binge. I am craving carbs and sugar right now. I tried to calm the hunger down with some fruit but that only made it worse! Any ideas on a quick fix to avoid a binge?!?!
  • Eat something with some fat or protein, like a dab of peanut butter or some low fat cheese. It will give you a feeling of fullness. Also have a big glass of tea or diet soda with it to fill you up.
  • Yes - big glass of a non-caloric beverage. Veggies and Laugying cow cheese, or veggies and string cheese, or veggies and a bit of peanut butter.

    Do you catch the theme? You can do it - stay strong - and - don't sweat it if you go over your calories by a bit today - just eat clean for the rest of the day - and - NO BINGING!!!!
  • Have you tried exercise? Maybe a nice long walk or some time at the gym, whatever your preference, to get your mind off your cravings and get your appetite back in check.
  • Chew some gum and keep busy to keep your mind off eating. Like winning the war said, go for a long walk or something.
  • I hear you... I was like that last night... and gave in. But that was yesterday, and this is today and I have been doing really well.

    I hope you didn't cave in like me... but if you did, just don't over do it, maybe all you needed was a small sampling and finished off with that tall glass of water and some raw veggies. That usually helps me.
  • Move away from the fridge

    Maybe have a glass of milk or a healthy shake, that helps suppress my hunger.
  • low fat yogurt has the perfect mix of protein fat and carbs. If you're feeling hungry probably don't eat more fruit which could be high glycemic and won't leave you feeling satiated. Just try something high protein with a little fat and then go for a walk to help burn some of those calories off.
  • "Health Binge"
    I try my best not to binge and do anything to avoid it. Just like you I try have something that will make me feel full.
    Sometimes it just doesn’t work! grrr...
    So if I binge (sometimes can’t avoid) I make sure I binge on heath food, like fruits... So to try keep myself on track I keep my fridge full of fruits and NO junkies anywhere around the house (and If I HAVE to have some, I hide them).
    So if I binge I do it on fruits. It isn’t nice, but better than binge on ice cream, chocolate or something bad...
    The outcome wont be as bad as it would been if you had binged on junkie too...
  • chew gum. eat pickles. drink huge chrystal light

  • What really works for me for a carb/sugar craving - take about 1/2 tin of canned pumpkin (2 cups?) & add cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice & artificial sweetener. You can heat it up if you want. Tastes reasonably similar to pumpkin pie filling, thus hitting the carb/sweet thing, & really fills me up, all for less than 200 calories!
  • Take a looooooooooooooong nap!
